Am interested in getting a QHD 34" monitor for working from home and this seemed like a cheap price for the spec. Never posted on HUKD before and interested to see the consensus before I pull the trigger on my hard earned dosh :-)

What is your main use for the monitor?
Working from home could mean a huge range of tasks.

I'm amazed how many genuine Amazon sellers are having their accounts hijacked - something is going on behind the scenes.

I think Amazon need to do more to block or filter the scam or compromised sellers.

No - Amazon need to do something concerning the scammers who are targeting genuine sellers accounts. The company that Amazon link goes to are called 'Smart Green Ltd' and they are a genuine seller, someone has hijacked their account.

I have been using a Hisense 43M3000 for the last few months, and find it really good for my purposes. Two mail clients, Browser, large Excel window, File Manager, Notepad++, Calculator. UHD at 100% is ideal for my needs, but yours may vary.

Is this 60 or 75hz? This page says 60 but others say 75 ?!?!?

Hi lucky. Mainly CAD and MS office packages. Use a dual monitor setup in work and constantly work between windows and really want the size and resolution to accommodate. No real interest in gaming/video work so I guess the refresh rate isn't a deal breaker for me.

About as funny as toothache.

As you are not using it for gaming what about a 4K tv? Save about £100 and be able to watch TV as well or get a bigger size TV?

I wouldn't recommend this route unless you're prepared to do a fair amount of research - TVs and monitors are designed for different primary tasks and just buying any old 4K TV and expecting it to be as good as a purpose-designed PC monitor is likely to result in disappointment. For example, the TV needs to accept and display a non-downsampled 4:4:4 chroma signal, it needs to have completely defeatable image enhancements on the PC input, it needs to be capable of displaying full RGB (0-255) video levels, and it needs to be a "true" 4K resolution without any RGBW "faux-K" smoke and mirrors. This information can often be hard to find in the normal published specs, and getting it wrong will leave you with poor image quality at best and eyestrain at worst.

It's entirely possible to get good results using a TV as a monitor, but you really need to do your homework beforehand.

let's not forget the input lag.

The OP wanted a monitor for cad use. I doubt whether this would be important. The eyestrain point may be fair, depending primarily on the refresh rate.

Good price

The effective size of a 34' UW monitor when your sat at a desk is pretty massive. 21:9 is amazing to play games on. 1440p QHD is also less demanding than 4k. This has freesync as well so with an AMD GPU will be real nice and smooth to play on.

Agreed. I was trying to make that point. I talked to one compromised seller and it's an awful situation. But Amazon need to do much more to put this right.

I was thinking of just getting this one. Can't imagine the extra res really makes that much difference on 34"... I assume you will disagree

Hi Louie, from I'm reading/watching online, when at this size (34inch) the extra res is recommended, e.g. See 1m 5s into the link below. youtu.be/w7h…njc
