There is absolutely no reason why they are using such slow ass drives these days other than to 1tb and to save an extra few pennies as the cost of massively unpowering the system.

Considering it will extremely difficult / impossible to replace, I can not vote hot as the rest of the hardware will be completely wasted.
Not a bad deal for an AIO. The slow HDD is a little disappointing for a computer bought in 2020 though, if it were me I'd stretch to another £40ish to purchase a 240GB SSD and switch out the HDD for the SSD(guides can be found on Youtube, but it's a five minute job with no real disassembly required, just unscrewing the back panel and then you can immediately access the drive), and if you need the mass storage of the 1TB drive pick up a USB enclosure for another tenner. For £50 and half and half an hour of work changing the drives and reinstalling Windows will yield a vastly snappier machine.

Very easy to replace looks like you just take rubber covers of the back of stand that is attached to screen and unscrew and then one more screw to remove before popping plastic cover off where you can access hard drive.

Core i5s are only produced in quad core variants as of the mid-2018 refresh cycle.

Even the low power u variants?

Yep, in the initial 8th gen launch they went almost entirely quad core for their "off the shelf" releases but made a couple of custom dual core chips for specific vendors like Apple, but as of the 8th gen refresh they've produced only quad core models of i5.
