Many people would just vote cold for the same reason. So no vote is better than a lazy person voting cold or posting no deals at all.

None local to Newcastle (Cramlington , North Shields , Newcastle , Kingston Park) for those looking

You paid with cash??

How uncouth.

Have one of these. Great little machines!

Pcworld deals are worse than tesco deals. Non existent

Note that the receipt states the Acer C7 chromebook, and not the C720 chromebook. Which is about 2/3 generations older, and no where near as good. So I'd just make sure of what you are getting before going through with it!

I blame Russell Brand

A big fan of my C720, you won't hit the 13 hours battery quoted but you'll comfortably hit 8 or 9 depending on the screen brightness and the portability is top notch.

Up to 13 hours battery life.

Acer website only says up to 8.5 hours so where's that quote coming from?

Fake. Need to see receipt

Hot. I'm really wanting the Toshiba Chromebook 2 though

Can someone try hooking up the HDMI to a TV and tell me how well it plays back 1080p videos (YouTube/Netflix)?

Is this a C7 or C720 OP? What does the box says?

The receipt is posted further up the thread. clearly not fake

Nice find, but these PC World deals are annoying. I drive round 4 different stores last week for the last big deal posted to find absolutely nothing. It's a great find to float about, buy hardly a "deal" when you have very little chance of anyone else getting as good a deal.

The price is good for a C7 but excellent for a C720 - question for me is - will they be selling any more C720's at the C7 price or was this a one-off mistake ?

Well of course it boots up fast - there's nothing on it.

Typing on one right now. Got it earlier in the summer. It's absolutely fantastic.

Absolutely brilliant machines, and battery life is amazing. Ridiculously cheap, this should be boiling.

I might get another, and I already have two!

Being as how comes it is essentially a Chrome Browser OS, is it possible to CHROMECAST the laptop screen to my 40 inch TV?

Like the Beta Tab casting function I have on my Chrome browser running on a Lenovo laptop with Windows 8.1?

Anyone got exactly this Chromebook and tried it, does it lag?

Not so much for me as my ex missus who is gradually going blind.

Might buy her one as a way of saying Thanks for 2 lovely sons.

That's what I was thinking!

I have the c720 and it is a beast of laptop excelent battery life, I use mine alot and still find battery left over, great for installing ubuntu and streaming steam

you can cast any tab.

the chromebook hardly lags, even if you have 20 tabs open.

it's good for anyone who mainly surfs the web but not if they like to do much outside of the web browser like photoshop, heavy gaming etc.

Appears this is actually for the c7?

You could also just buy a typewriter for that. Fail to see any use for these things. As we've seen with the hacks and downed systems, the cloud isn't something you can rely on.

I've got an old Acer Emachines (possible E442 - 2.3ghz AMD V140 cpu and Mobility Radeon 4250 HD gfx) that is basically just used to stream things to my TV via HDMI - either from my NAS, or Flash based stuff, or iPlayer etc.

It's very jittery sometimes though so I would like to replace it. Would this do the job without any of the stuttering that is very annoying with the Acer?

Good, now hunt time.

Half decent machine. Quicker than the Hp but I didn't like the keyboard or build. Seriously. If the Hp 11 had this speed and battery life I would never have given it up.

Anyone found any?
