I've been umming and ahhing about whether to try a chromebook for a while now. I know this is hardly the latest model, but the possibility of getting it for just over £110* with the current Nectar double-up offer seems pretty compelling to me, given its original price of £229. Sainsbury's are ditching stock, hence the large reduction. I'm led to believe it's nationwide, at least for those stores that still have stock.

*I've reserved the display model, in fact, so that will be another 10% off, taking the total price to me down to £97.98, assuming they can actually unshackle the thing from the display table (which is why I had to reserve it...). Had to pull the trigger at that price, older tech or not.

Love my Chromebook. As long as you are aware of what limitations it has and you're ok with them, then this is a great piece of kit for the price.

I recently had to go back to a windows laptop for work and found the clunky, slow experience infuriating - I could not wait to go back to the chromebook. Chrome OS is a work in progress and whilst it doesn't have all of the functionality that Windows does, I have no doubt that in the near future it'll be as useful as any other os.

Just curious, for those voting cold, is it that you don't see the point of chromebooks (fair enough: they won't suit everyone) or is it that you do, but just not this one? If the latter, what are you leaning towards instead? I'm genuinely interested, as I have a couple of days before my reservation expires, so if this is a terrible purchase, let me know what I should go for instead. (If I had any sort of patience, I'd hang on for Acer's forthcoming i5 Chromebook 15 - due in April? - but I haven't...)

Very good machine, boots quickly, good sound quality & even though its light & compact its very robust with good build quality.
I brought ours for my wife just after xmas from PC World for £99, it was also a display model.

Probably the best Chromebook, bar the Pixel, and that one is just plain silly.

How do we get the £40 off?

bought 2 of these in December '13 .. great piece of kit for what it is. My daughter uses hers for college and watching Netflix on. I use mine all the time and don't miss a windows based laptop. Looks a great price as well. hot !!
