Excellent deal. Voted hot.
Great deal for A1 refurb. If it wasn't 15" and 2KG I'd buy. Just don't need or want a Chromebook to be that big.
Spec says Non Touch screen

It says Non Touch in specifications
I bought it non touchscreen. It does have one
Great price tempted heat added
I’ve been using the CB3-431 for £99.97 I got in the last deal. I have to say for web browsing and the basic stuff, it is fantastically fast, quiet and slick - the battery lasts ages and it doesn’t even get slightly warm. If a Chromebook suits your usage patterns just buy one now - don’t hesitate.

Ordered, i pick it up Wednesday. Cheers
I loved my Chromebook 14 (so much so that I bought a Swift 1, basically the Windows version of it), the build quality is amazing.

But don't expect to put much stress on the processor before it starts showing where the savings were made. And, as is true with all similar laptops, the screen won't go bright enough to see in proper sunlight.

This is a pretty standard processor for a Chromebook, they don’t need a lot. Unless you meant the Swift 1, in which case, yes, it can easily be choked in Windows.
Is it definitely the touch screen model?

Im jumping between posts and not sure if it's their description of not being touch screen or the model number is incorrect or correct?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It is definitely a typo. Touchscreen is standard on the Acer chromebook 15.
Meaning there are no other version.

Chromebooks *didn't* need a lot. When they're including Linux and all sorts else as features, I think it's only fair to judge by a door that is largely thrown wide open.

I owned the two simultaneously so I benched them (insofar as a handful of outwardly identical tests I could run on both machines) and the Windows machine conclusively outpaced the Chromebook.

But that's by the by, the difference wasn't enormous and if you have tabs and tabs and tabs going simultaneously neither one will be happy. It was an FYI, nothing more. Still thoroughly recommend.
I've had several refurbs from LaptopsDirect and both were delivered in original boxes in mint condition. This particular laptop is recommended by the youtube channel Chrome Unboxed as THE best budget chromebook. The screen hinge is a conventional laptop design (i.e. no tablet or tent mode) - but no big loss IMO. Nothing else not to like. At this price it's a steal. Hot.

The point I was making is that even the ‘top end’ Chromebooks only have a Core m3 and they cost stupid money. Chromebooks are better optimised for basic tasks, regardless of what any benchmark might show. I’m a Windows user through and through but even I see the value of a Chromebook for the things it can do extremely well and efficiently - Windows has so much background stuff chugging away it eats the battery and ties up the CPU unless you have tons of spare resources.

If you are at the limit of your Chromebook you probably need something more powerful like the Lenovo Yoga C630 or Asus C434.
Ordered earlier when was still available! - Cheers OP

Any other Chromebooks for around the same price with similar specs? Got an MSI gaming laptop that runs like a toaster in this heat, the fans make it a crappy web machine.
Laptops Direct are terrible. I purchased two refurbished "pristine" Lenovo's next day delivery two weeks ago. No purchase confirmation email was sent to me. I had to call customer service (which is NOT free) and after being on hold for an hour I finally have tell them to send me the email. They said both laptops were sent. One laptop arrived a day late and despite the description saying it was in pristine condition the keyboard had a lump in it like a ball with an egg. Now two weeks later I get an email saying the second is out of stock.

Argos refurbished have stocks, but it's £267. You do get 12 months warranty though., only 3 months with Laptops direct.

One of my CB3s did arrive battered and dirty. I complained and they offered a partial refund pretty quick but I needed lots of follow-up to actually get the refund. Still, they gave me £40 back so I paid £59.97 in the end and I can live with that.
Been using one of these for 9 months now and it's excellent. If this deal comes up again, snatch there hands off.
BTW if you leave an email addie with LaptopsDirect they will mail you when they are back in stock. May take a couple of weeks or whatever but the more popular chromebooks come and go at regular intervals.
Laptop arrived - Very nice!

Came in original box - mint condition.

After i complained it turns out they have no stock and I'm waiting till then. Last time I use or recommend this company absolute joke. If i don't get the item by Saturday, the date they say them im cancelling.
Also their communications via email are a joke.
