Anybody know if the freesync technology is compatible with nvidia?
Or will it be ok without anyway?

What he is asking is does it work well with nvidias adaptive sync implementation. Freesync is a fairly loose standard so even with AMD cards you can have widely differing results and on nvidia only a handful of monitors have passed testing as being faultless. Others have a wide range of issues some that are most users won't notice but some which are a massive annoyance

pointless for console as you can't utilise the main benefit of this monitor - 144hz.

can get one with 60hz for around £80.
Thanks!

However in terms of response time, quality etc, is it good? I have a gaming laptop too so I was hoping I could plug that in, hence going for 144hz

Response time is average, 4ms is nothing special. Most TN panels can reach 2ms at very affordable prices.

If gaming laptop can reach >100fps on the games you play then it will be worth it.

Would you recommend a IPS, VA or TN screen?

Would you recommend a IPS, VA or TN screen?

It depends on what your looking for and budget.

IPS : best colour reproduction however slower response times (we are talking milliseconds ) which can also have an effect in picture quality at high FPS, not that everyone will notice. Some newer IPS panels have faster response times however you will only find these in premium price monitors

VA: pretty rare panel type, in the middle of TN and IPS in terms of colour reproduction but have very deep blacks, response times are somewhat in the middle as well. Noticed a lot of cheaper gaming screens us VA, I would rather go with a TN from a good brand than a VA because it was cheap

TN: generally worst colour reproduction, not very deep blacks, can look washed out, however has de facto the fastest response times available and is generally cheaper. Some manufacturers have half decent TN panels: Dell is an example

I game on a Dell S2716DG TN panel, colours are not as good as an IPS 100% but everything at 1440p looks good and for playing FPS it is buttery smooth
Any recommendations for a 27 inch good all round similar to this :)?
