E Machines All in One Desktop
Intel Atom 270 1.6 with 18.5 inch screen
2GB Ram
DvDRW
320 GB HD
Windows 7 Home Premium

Was in tesco at Lakeside and saw this bargain, last one and I had to have it. Had other bargains - a tesco value cd boombox for £7. they seemed to have a lot of deals, loads of technika hd freeview boxes for £30, but the PC was a sheer bargain. Hope you all have luck in tracking down a similar bargain

OCUK do a similar spec atom based unit for £80. But that's without a screen and windows, so actually this deal is pretty good assuming you dont have a spare copy of windows 7 lying around.

Great spec like many netbooks (Dell Mini 9 etc) but with 2GB, DVDRW and a decent size hard drive. Potential project as it has all the makings as prescribed for hacking

its an atom processor desktop... oO

some call the dell mini 9 a very cheap macbook

i think some will call this a very cheap imac

cheap imac lol.. kind of a large understatement

If you hackintosh'ed this, it wouldn't actually make a bad imac rip, not the best by any means, but not bad..

dont see this anywhere on their website can anybody piont me in the right direction

try google maps (_;)

the world most rubbish all in one pc intel atom is totally rubbish

Love the Cnet review of it! really dont think they liked it!!

Declaring the eMachines EZ1601-01 the best all-in-one Nettop we've seen is kind of like saying swine flu is our favorite vaccination-resistant virus.

However for £140 they would have written a rather different review and it would have been the best thing since sliced bread....

Ah gutted, Im going to miss out on this, been waiting for these things to drop for precisely the reasons the OP cites

Must say I had an atom desktop a while ago and very impressed. Perfect for students or a family hub. Very hot

Fantastic deal, win7 itself is worth 70 quid so for rest you paying only another 70

Seems like a good price just for the screen.

Includes Windows Media Center, so add a £10 remote and it would make a decent TV with built in PVR...

If this had an ion chipset, id buy it tomorrow.
The user above thinking of using this as a PVR has probably never seen the 'power' of the n270 and intel 950 gma (_;)

None near Derby by the looks of it.

None in Northern Ireland but still a good find. The components are worth much more that 140.

bargain for a family desktop

Couldn't find it.

I've just been to both Tescos in the Ipswich Area and neither have them.

:-(

if anyone finds one they don't want could tthey let me know as i'd be happy to have it and cover postage

Got more chance of finding rocking horse s*#t than finding one of these Tesco non-deals. Usually tend to be store specific. Has anyone other than the OP actually seen and/or purchased one of these 'bargains' at the knock down price?

not the best cpu, almost unusable, well for my nippers anyway but a good price for those who have patients

It probably wouldn't be any good out of the box, but I use GMAbooster on my mini9 (only at 1.5x) and it runs XBMC really well. And it stays pretty cool, even without a fan.

Has anyone else bought one, yes or no

This will be a store specific clearance deal. Chances of other stores having the same thing is near zero. I got a 16" laptop from Tesco for £140 last year (using it now), but I didn't bother posting it on HDUK as they are manager clearances and the prices will not be the same in other branches. Better to use the OP's post as a heads-up for possible bargains at Tesco rather than trying to find this specific model at the same price imo.
