Acer Extensa E420 Desktop,

AMD 1640B Athlon,
1GB RAM,
160GB HDD,
DVDRW,
KB & Mouse

Linux OS, but you can easily install XP if you like.

At £148.99 it's a nice and cheap desktop system.

Depends what you want it for. This would look great hanging off the back of my LCD TV and the roar of the fan would be nice in the background...might even be louder than by Sky HD box or my Xbox360 if I'm lucky! ..... :roll:

Also, are you comparing with the Revo 3610 / Atom 330 that's available for this price, or the 3600Atom 230 that Ebuyer sells? Not the same animal.

Linpus is laughable - it probably won't even have drivers that support all of the hardware in the PC base unit!! Don't even boot up with it installed. Just download Ubuntu 9.10 and put that on instead.

I know they both have Linpus supplied but it is apples and oranges

You can hardly stick a video capture card or new wifi card into an aspire one, you have to have a nasty USB wart hanging off the side (assuming you've got any spare ports since you can't add more of those either).
