I assume he means this 2414 deal. (OOS now but that's the way it is, have to monitor the page and strike when the moment arrives; swiftly and keenly, with no hesitation or remorse)

How does it compare to this one - ebuyer.com/612…001

Basically comes down to IPS vs TN Panel, I've heard IPS is better?

That doesn't look IPS to me?

Here's the order:

TN panels are bottom.
budget IPS panel (eg. e-IPS)
VA
premium IPS panel (eg. s-IPS, p-IPS, ah-IPS)

Bear in mind that different panels have different pros and cons. If you want the best gaming monitor, you may find that TN is the best.
If you want the best colour, you may opt for VA (deeper black, these panels are used by premium TVs).
If you want a balance and the best viewing angle, you may opt for e-IPS.
And lets not forget that some expensive gaming monitors will use TN panels, with a very high refresh rate. You an also get G-Sync monitors which are very expensive (and use TN panels).

There is no "which panel is the best".

Hopefully once (o)LED panels become mainstream and are available for less than £1k, we will have a "this is the best panel for all uses".

The deal in this thread is actually pretty decent. Good price.
I think recently there was a 24" VA panel monitor for £90, which IMO was the best value deal on a monitor I have ever seen. Ebuyer were selling it.

unquestioned

Seems you are lucky then. Indeed I had a lot of transactions that were fine, it's when you have one that is not fine that you get problems, and enough people on here seem to have had the same. And this... theregister.co.uk/201…ed/

Paid £106.97 for this from Amazon in June last year. Nice monitor, colours not as accurate as my Dell (which cost a lot more), but I only bought it as a 2nd monitor to replace a cheapo one which had gone pop so it's all good. I'm very happy with it.

Not used for gaming (unless you count Football Manager!) so can't comment on response times.

That Dell monitor has got some major issues for some people, but the P2414H version is fine. Alternatively you could get this 23" IPS monitor for £109.83, this 24" VA monitor for £129.98 or this 24" 144Hz TN monitor for £167.99. It really comes down to what you're going to be doing at your PC as there's pros and cons to each.

I'm pretty sure this Acer monitor can also be bought from Amazon for £99.99.

Ebuyers comment seems believable. On that same leaderboard it does say 'TECH SUPPORT' so I think your post is pointless.

On another note, is it me or are a fair few of their staff really good looking? I wish people like that worked where I do...

Five years ago response time bore little relation to ghosting, so unless marketing departments have had an outbreak of honesty you're better off going for a model that's been specifically tested if you're sensitive to it.

Is this better than the BenQ one here?

Is this better than the BenQ one here?

This Acer monitor is an IPS and the BenQ is a TN. This will give you better colours and viewing angles compared to the BenQ.

Ordered this a few days after Christmas and was meant to be getting delivery tomorrow, monitor arrived on nye. Great for the price takes a bit of fiddling out the box to get colours right as its a bit dark to begin with. Can't complain great monitor for £100.
