Wouldn't it be a Quad HD monitor if it's 1440!

Where are you getting "144hz" from?

Seems a decent deal, anyway. Hot!

No, I thought 4k was quad hd

No 4k is not the same as quad hd as hd starts at less than 1080P

I prefer the look of IPS these days

Quad HD = Quad (4 times) HD (720p) which is QHD that is 2560x1440p also known as WQHD / 2K / 1440p both abbreviations are correct

I need a monitor for work (I'm a primary HT) because I'm fed up with straining my eyes toward a laptop screen. Would this be too much? I only need basic web browsing and email (so many emails!).

Thanks and Merry Christmas

Is this gunna be good to ps4 or that teckniwood 40 inch 4k tv for £230 on ebay listed on here thanks

You rarely get it on TN too, given that almost all 1ms claims are nonsense. This has been shown by many different review sites. If you check out some of the 1ms screens from TFTCentral, it'll really open your eyes.
A screen also has different response times depending on where you take the measurement. Manufacturers will always take the best ones they can. What you'll find is that the 1ms can be achieved at one very specific point on the screen, with high levels of overdrive which makes the final image look pants.

Some of the best gaming monitors right now are IPS based: see the PG279Q. It beats a number of "1ms" TN screens hands down.

The cost is a different matter though.

1440p will give you a higher resolution, so things will appear 'smaller' by default. Increase the display in Windows to 125% (or more) and you'll get a lovely, sharp image. My dad uses 200% scaling, which makes it look more like a tablet, but is very easy on his eyes. You don't need to go that high though.

Another option is the Dell 2514H, but that's generally more expensive (not by much though). It depends if you want 25 or 27 inch.
Personally I don't like the big drive towards larger screens. I find it rather pointless having a screen so big on my desk that I need to move my head around to physically see it all. 25" is the largest I'm happy with (2 of them), but each to their own.

The PS4 is native 1080p which will not look good on this monitor. Any TV you get you need to check around to find what kinda input lag you're going to get.

Felt a bit sad after purchasing a Dell U2515H for £250 a few days ago until I realised this is a TN panel- IPS all the way!

That's a bit of a big leap in sizes. The ps4 only supports 1080p so if that's all your going to use it for, you can get cheaper options for both sizes

Yeh I want a big tv like 40 50 imch but I need is 4k good what do I look for in a tv that's going to be good for ps4 gaming

You need to read reviews regarding input lag. Only way to know for sure. Noting the manufacturer will tell you will help I'm afraid

I reckon this is about the 'right' resolution if you want a screen this big and are sitting fairly close - not sure '4k' is justified, but also think 1080p isn't quite enough (I have both).

ps4 cannot output 4k or 1440p. It can only do 1080p max so there's no point buying anything other than a good quality 1080p monitor

But yes, the idea is I don't need to move my head per screen

Bought two, I'm an absolute sucker.

Any idea how I'd connect them to a single VGA out as individual monitors?

Would this monitor be good for gaming on the ps4 aswell as being a monitor for pc use?

I just bought this monitor argos.co.uk/m/s…htm

would it be worth taking this back and getting this for the bit of extra money?
