4k @ 60 Hz, 'Zero-Frame Design', 27" IPS, USB 3.1 Type C, AMD FreeSync, 4ms response time.

Best price I could find for a USB 3.1 Type C 4K IPS monitor. Excellent response time for IPS so could be quite good for gaming.

£360.49 with P&P or Free P&P if you are an active forum member.

This is the ksmipuz model (not the same as the £299.98 ebuyer model)

hotukdeals.com/deals/acer-h277hk-27-ips-led-zeroframe-4k-monitor-29998-ebuyer-2881512 this deal is for the kmidpx model.

They are the same display panel but ksmipuz (this model) has USB3.1 Type C, USB3.0 Hub(1Up2Down) and no DVI port (thanks @Redscoped for info).

I thought this was a great price for a usb 3.1 type c model, with the next cheapest 4k IPS competitor being the LG 27ud88-w which costs much more.

Particularly useful for mac users with limited ports due to the USB hub.

This video is for the 2k version comparing the two different models.

What is USB 3.1 type C?

Although this applies with any Windows laptop that has USB type C

Although the OCUK pictures have a black background they have expressed the exact model number in the listing which is the USB model (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.HH7EE.026)

All depends if the USB input, minimal wiring solution is worth the extra £50 to you but I chose it as I plan to buy an XPS soon.

Showing as OOS, but I rang and they said rough estimate for delivery ~2weeks (not firm date yet, but if you buy now they will honour this price).

Be warned, no VESA.

Other options at this price range:

-LG 27UD59P - more adjustable frame, no usb, slightly dated design in comparison. However is wall mountable and significantly cheaper hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-27ud59p-27-ips-freesync-4k-monitor-28997-laptopsdirect-2877020
-EIQ 324KMALU - amazing price for 32inch IPS 4k, no usb input, minimal reviews but good posts from customers that bought here on HUKD hotukdeals.com/deals/electriq-32-4k-freesync-ips-panel-hdmi-monitor-eiq-324kmalu-28997-laptops-direct-2839410
-Acer H277HK (kmidpx) - same monitor but no USB £50 quid cheaper (£60 with P&P) hotukdeals.com/deals/acer-h277hk-27-ips-led-zeroframe-4k-monitor-29998-ebuyer-2881512

What would you do with the usb c port?

USB type c allows you to transmit your display and charge your laptop at the same time (if your laptop has this functionality). Additionally your monitor then becomes a USB Hub, so any peripherals can be connected to your monitor will connect to your laptop. This is useful for macs due to the limited usbs, and the expense of the usb hub they sell.

Thanks for the very timely post, I'm considering a 4k monitor currently!
I was going to get a catleap 144 fast but it came faulty and the seller refunded me rather than replaced it, which gives me an opportunity to shop around.

It'll probably be too expensive, but any suggestions for:

4k HDR
30 inches +
Freesync
ideally 75HZ+
don't need speakers, usb, too many inputs etc.

Really appreciate your time on this

Nice trolling.

Can you point me in the direction of a gaming iMac?
Wouldn't touch any Acer stuff since I've had 2x 4k monitors from them fail in exactly the same way - known fault with the power supplies. Rather than sort they leave people in RMA nightmare, constantly returning faulty units because the fault is intermittent. Acer S277HK monitor failures
The specs on Overclockers linked item make no mention of USB. It does list HDMI Displayport etc.

Freesync is pretty easy to implement in the firmware, while Gsync requires extra actual hardware. Makes Freesync a cheaper form of VRR. It also means the implementation of VRR can vary quite a bit between Freesync monitors since there's no standardization behind it.

You can buy a Freesync panel now and in 3 years, if AMD releases a killer GPU, you can buy it and then take advantage of your Freesync capabilities. Or you dont and just enjoy your panel for everything else it offers. There's no *downside* to buying a Freesync panel, no matter what GPU you use. The alternative is to buy a Gsync monitor, which are fewer in number(meaning less shopping/spec options) and typically a fair bit more expensive.

Inaccurate description, many of the manufacturers have inaccurate descriptions. For example, laptopdirect states this has VESA mounting.

The important thing is the model number UM.HH7EE.026 (ksmipuz) is explicitly written twice. That is the usb model. I enquired about it only being white, and the picture is black (kmidpx) and they said the picture isn't necessarily accurate to the colour of the actual product.

No, I've explained the difference in the main post, that one does not have usb 3.1 type C. Ebuyer is kmidpx model.

No need to get shirty!
I read the model numbers carefully on the posting and on ebuyer. They are both Acer H277HK

It's unusual to have two variants with identical model number, or else it's a typo.

I had an Acer laptop from 10 years ago, bought for something like £2.5k at the time (top of the range) with their premium support package purchased as an add on. Laptop kept crashing/restarting as soon as I received it, getting gradually worse and worse. Took literally 6 months of constantly having to return it, have it re-delivered after a "repair", then sending it back to them when it turned out they hadn't fixed anything and the problems persisted. What they did was incrementally change things from cheapest to eventually the most expensive. Think I sent it back 7 times overall, first time they returned it with no changes saying it was fine, second time they did a software reinstall only and returned it, third time they changed the battery, etc etc, till they eventually changed the motherboard and it was fixed.

That experience was a nightmare, and put me off from Acer permanently. Based on what you've said it sounds like they're still pulling that sort of idiotic policy of going for the cheapest fixes first and sending it straight back with the hope that it's fixed.

"best value for those specs, probably LG 32UD99 "

Way too rich for me. Any mileage to using a large 4k TV as a monitor? Probably not QLED or OLED, just something that does 4k60 with 4:4:4 over HDMI or display port. I would still like HDR and adaptive sync if at all possible (probably not yet).

Thanks again!

Showing as out of stock.

I contacted them and they said they will honour the price when the stocks come back in (about two weeks from when this deal was posted). Considering the next cheapest usb 3.1 type c monitor is the 27UD88-w at £470, it's worth the wait if you need usb c.
Unfortunately, this monitor is now end of line and no more stock is coming.

Now the ebuyer 299.98 offer is over too! Oh well
