Hot hot hot hot hot!!.. hotter than Icarus's charcoaled wings!

Hot

Hot from me

got one a few weeks ago - nice tablet and runs most of the top games well enough, but really does feel like a plastic toy

512 mb ram just doesn't really cut it these days

the £10 off when spending £75 coupon doesnt work with the £10 off when you spend £50 or more (first time)
damnit!

holding out for 2nd gen nexus 7

Looks interesting as am still a Tablet virgin. This looks cheap and might be worth breaking my cherry but I'm unsure if I want one or what I'd use it for.

Someone sell it to me. I could be persuaded.

not a great battery and 512mb ram seems a step back but seems good spec for the price.

I have no idea what tablets are for either!

Bought one of this from Very earlier, Its unexpectedly smooth. For browsing , social networking, 2D game (haven't try 3D) are all very smooth, BBC iplayer, Google play , battery 5 hours frequently use. No back camera , value for money if you don't mind 7"

£70 quid - Cheap as chips

How does this compare to the Archos 80 cobalt?

Just received mine today from Amazon @ £99 and £20.00 Acer cash back , looks good .
Anybody get the cash back already , with Amazon what do you provide to Acer as proof of purchase??
Great Tablet !

Is there any way to make this 3g?

£99 at Very, £30 off with new credit account code then £20 more with Acer cashback. Use collect + Delivery you got this for £49.

Oh and to add its amazing for the price.

^hot

bought a few months ago

never use it myself as don't see the point of tablets because I have a laptop and large screen smart phone... but my 5 year old daughter uses it a lot.

I found it a bit slow... personally and wont play 3D games like chugginton very smoothly

much better screen though than the budget tabs

512mb ram.... cold.

have gone for this for the nipper to have a play although after seeing a Youtube vid of it running NFS I shall be having a look in myself.

Well yeah the price of potatoes has gone up a lot with all the bad weather last year, but even so I reckon if I ate £70 worth of chips I would be a little bit of a porker, so probably better I buy this tablet, not that I need it, but it's better than being clinically obese.

i'm very much the same as you and even now, i don't use it a huge amount. it's handy for a bit of pick up and play gaming though on a screen bigger than your phone. same goes with a bit of web surfing, but then for me, i've got my desktop about 2 feet away from my sofa, and i'm used to just flicking that on whenever i want to look at something or just using my phone.

but it's early days yet i suppose - i might get used to using the tablet for more things. at least i've rooted it so i can get some decent adblocking software and use titanium backup

I'll forever curse not doing that - i used that £30 quid voucher to get two stupid Nook Simple's that was a complete waste of time. still, i got £10 off it and the £20 acer cashback will at least bring it down to £69.99

Sounds like the worst pitch ever:p You haven't gone through any of the features or how they would benefit me and gone right in for the close.

You also need to take your time, wine and dine a person before taking their cherry. (_;)

Ah I see, no problem, here we go then, the tablet is average to ok, it does quite a few things, I'm trying to rob you blind with the price. I haven't got any wine, but will a few beers do? and do you fancy it then? How's that, have I won? I think I can hear Alan Sugar saying something.

Lol, you sound like those drunk blokes at the end of the evening that have resorted to asking women if they fancy a frolic in the sack. Doesn't sound like a good proposition but you may get lucky

As far as the deal is concerned. I looked up some of the benefits yesterday and decided it wasn't for me.

It's actually after 30 days but before 60 days of the purchase to claim. Got it flagged up on a few calendars so I don't forget. If they are being scummy with that rule they will probably have more stupid rules not to pay up. Really enjoying my experience with the tablet so far though

The window for claiming is only open from 30th May (I think that was the date),so you can do it online but only after that day, and so we do not know yet what evidence they want.

I would scan your receipt from Amazon in readiness (or take a photo on your phone - I would say do it on the Iconia but the forward facing camera makes that quite a task!)

As for several posters bemoaning the lack of RAM and poorer battery life - I think you miss the whole point - It's less than £70 - it's not meant to fight against the iPad Mini or Galaxy Tab's as they cost 2 or 3 times more money - it's meant to be an introduction to Tablets at a very good price point.

I personally love it for one app alone, SmartTalk that allows you to send texts from the tablet using wifi but against my unlimited text allowance in the UK (as I will do from the USA next week when my O2 SIM will be useless or too expensive to use).

Netflix is also excellent on it.

Ah well you caught me out, it was my audition for the Jeremy Kyle show, I should be starring on it next week if all goes well. I just need to rub some grease in to my face (having plenty of spots is a great look for the show). I'm working on lowering my I.Q. chat roulette seems a great way to start. The biggest problem is trying to find one of your close relations to sleep with.

Anyway back to reality, as far as I'm aware I haven't had to resort to any miserable tactics like that yet. I've had my fair share of ups and downs with relationships though, as I guess most of us have The problem for me is that I'm one of those complex people, I never take the easy route in life and there's always something exciting happening in my life good and bad, quite often bad due to how I play things. I'm feeling helpful so I'm going off on a tangent here, if any of you have lost your way in life, or just want to live life to the full, start off with a couple of books, I suggest >

Trust me here people, those books are awesome.

How does my post relate to this deal? Well you can stick Amazon Kindle or Google Books on this tablet, read those books and your life will start to become awesome (possible even more awesome if it's awesome already)

I feel like moving to New Zealand, watch out Zealanders here I come!

So who fancies some Zabaglione La Cinzianelle and Domaine Romanée-Conti down in Monte Carlo before I set off for the other side of the world?

Naturally if you've got the magic, you've got it I've taught Paul Daniels a thing or two which is how he ended up with Debbie McGee, or it might be the millions he has in the bank, I'm not sure

Right anyway I'm off to consider how to save the rainforests in Madagascar, the things you do on your day off. If anyone is interested Madagascar looks pretty nice >

Apologies for quoting the dailymail, but they have some lovely photos representing what I just mentioned

dailymail.co.uk/new…tml

Anyway again to keep this in context, if you purchase this lovely average tablet for a pretty fair price in this deal, you'll be able to view that website in all its glory on this tablet.

Have fun people

risky, very have a policy saying that if you use a voucher you haven't been personally sent they can cancel it. which they do by adding the debt to your account, sometimes well after the original transaction. details here very.co.uk/terms
also they only offer free collect+ on certain items and i don't think this is one
