7.9" is better than a 7" IMHO but I went for the 10" screen as it is much more usable, 1GB ram is a little low for future proofing... but at £90 and from Acer got to be a good bet for someone?

That's what I was thinking.

Saying that, It would of been a bit more appealing around £69.99 though LOL

How does this compare to the tab 3 Samsung?

no cellular connection? someone please recommend a tablet on sale now with cellular connection:)

i have this tab. the processing speed is good. the screen resolution is good but its the brightness that lets it down. its ok in a dark room. otherwise, even on full brightness settings, its significantly less bright compared to the samsung tabs

Does it have a good camera ?

Can anyone confirm that this tablet has front and back camera please

You'll generally need a much higher budget if you want a tablet with onboard 3g/4g, have you considered a mifi type device? It's a very small battery powered 3G/4G router that allows any wireless device to connect through it. They're usually relatively inexpensive (much less than the additional price you'd pay to get 3G/4G hardware on a tablet) and they can also be placed anywhere within wifi range so if you're somewhere that gets a better signal by the window you can put the device there and then use the tablet where you want.

John

This is a very good price for the A1 which was designed to be a budget iPad Mini v1 competitor. The other deal which has gone hot for the B1 v2 is not so good a deal.

They look pretty similar but they aren't the same device. For example the Acer has a 5MP camera compared to the Mobi Note's 2MP. The battery is significantly bigger capacity on the Acer too - 4960 mAh vs 3500 mAh. The Mobi Note is about 19% thicker than the Acer which is far from the slimmest tablet in its class. The Acer is significantly below its RRP at this price whereas the Mobi Note is only 15% cheaper.

many thanks for the reply. i would rather avoid mifi because it costs more in the long run (compare to ovivo or giffgaff) and i hate signing up to contracts. dont mind paying a bit more for a tab with cellular connection. but it seems like most tab sales posted here are of wifi only.

Wonder if I should get this and sell my Archos Titanium 80
Quad core plus Bluetooth and I do find the archos a little laggy sometimes.

keep your eye out for the 2012 Nexus 7. I've seen the 3g versions on here for up to 120£, mostly refurbs, but still good.

many thanks. will do.

This is the perfect size for me. Shame it's 8gb though, would have happily paid the extra for 16gb

I guess what you are looking for is something like the Cube U55GT, Ainol BW1, Vido M3 at about $150.

I like this one which is just being released, but no 3G.

hmm? i dont understand you, winch.

The Cube U55GT, Ainol BW1, Vido M3 all have a sim card slot for 3G/cellular use and are the same size as the Acer A1-810.
