I've been looking for a reasonably priced 10 inch android tablet with full HD screen and this one seems to fit the bill.

To get this price add 2 x 99p SIM cards and use code TDX-PHJ4 for £20 off when you spend £150.

A high-speed tablet by Acer, featuring the new Android™ 7.0 Nougat for speedier navigation on the go. The Acer Iconia One B3-A40 10-inch tablet comes with a Full HD 10-inch screen, displaying ultra-fast graphics with 1920x1200-pixel definition. This tablet comes with 2GB of RAM plus 32GB of hard-drive storage. Get online with the Acer B3-A40 tablet’s Wi-Fi connection. Browse the Google suite of apps, listen to music and watch your favourite videos for longer with the Iconia One’s 9-hour battery life. This Acer tablet comes preloaded with the Android™ 7.0 Nougat operating system, for split-screen app viewing, direct-reply notifications and more. The Acer Iconia tablet is available in a classic black finish.

The slow chipset will annoy.

The new high end Fire HD 10 is in a different league.

If you're not bothered about a decent YouTube experience.
Or for £9.01 more you could get the Lenovo Tab4 10, has Snapdragon 425 which is a more powerful chipset and weighs about 5% less.

edit - no VP9 in hardware .
This is much on a par with the SD 425 . And this also has GPS.

It really depends on personal usage, the being fine for the price.

...and only a 1280×800 screen. The full HD resolution is a must for me.

This review techradar link says the complete opposite:

The Amazon Fire HD 10 comes with an 800 x 1,280 screen and the proprietary Fire OS installed. Despite being around the same price, in almost every area it proves to be worse value than the Acer, winning out only in its inclusion of the Alexa smart voice assistant.

Unless you are heavily invested in the Amazon ecosystem, the Acer Iconia One 10 (2017) is the better option.

EDIT: Just realised my error, that's comparing it with the older fire hd10. Doh!

FWIW I'm torn between this & the Fire HD 10, although TBH it's only going to be used for my kitchen Kodi tablet, literally nothing else at all, as my current tablet (Nook HD+) cant stream 1080p files from my homeserver thanks to the old 1gb ram being a bottleneck.

As such, if anyone has real life experience with either, esp with Kodi, then their opinion would be invaluable to me!

I hope you are using Lineage and not the junk last official firmware for the Nooks.
Tiptop spot!

Good to get a bit of something off!

This particular model is the best of the 4, they flew out the door last week at £87

Hahaha, of course! It's the entire reason I bought it.

Paid £30 new just as B&N pulled their UK support for the Nooks cos I spotted an XDA thread on rooting it when looking at rooting options for an older phone, so been using custom roms since the first patched Nook one was released.
It's still got a helluva screen for it's age, & will keep doing a job for me reading graphic novels & magazines for years to come, I've ever bought stocked up on three spare Nook charging cables.

the 2017 fire HD 10 is on par with SD 625
This is not worth the reduction in price

Anyone else have thoughts on this Lenovo compared to the Acer in this deal?

Looking for a 10" tablet for a 6yr old boy to mainly play games on.

Want something half decent.

If it were me I'd go for the amazon fire for kids 8". My 6 year old & 5 year olds have had the 7" ones & the free fire apps/games, TV & films for a year is absolutely brilliant, as is the year kidproof accident guarantee, had three replaced in a year for each of them, two because they cracked the screen being careless.

Personally I think a 10" tablet is a little bit too big & at these price ranges, a bit too heavy, to be comfortable for 6 year olds.

Of course if you must have a 10" then if you got the fire hd 10 you could add the fire for kids for £2.99 a month to get the free games apps & film/TV.
This or the Huawei for £119??. Both seem to have similar specs..
Can't make my mind up!..

Would buy this, more storage, higher resolution Full-HD display, good quality speakers with DTS and fast wireless. Excellent as a media device. Very underated this, discounted from £170.

Currys have the 16GB version for £10 less, as you add SD card anyway, isn't that better?
Thanks for your advice..this does now look the better option.

Quite different from the SD625. HD10 single core performance will be double thus the HD10 feeling exceptionally fast.

Yes, it is different, but it is comparable from the context of user perceived experience

Where did you get the cables from? The proprietary able is a pain. Which version of lineage are you running?

I've been looking for a cheap hdmi adapter for years now - I bit see that happening now though.
I bought them from an eBay seller about a year after I got the tablet, he must have had the old stock & was selling the ac adapter pack which came with the cable for about a fiver each.

I've never bothered searching for a hdmi adapter, they were always pricey & I have no need for one.
