Those delivery charges are pretty steep.

no overseas delivery to europe, that sucks!

Umm Is it worth paying £60 more for 1440 compared to 1080?

Very nice price.

Can anyone offer advice? Can my ati radeon hd 5400 graphics card (1x HDMI, 1x VGA, 1X DVI) run this monitor at 1440p?

Would want to have two, not for PC gaming.

Max resolution of your card looks to be 2048x1536, so it should be fine.

I want to buy one of these but after checking out some reviews they have a ghosting issue, so they're not that good for gaming

Balls, should I cancel my order?

I just need it for email, internet, MS office, watching football and movies.

As a 1440p user it offers a ton more desktop space to do things. Having 2 windows side by side works really well as each is 720p wide which is plenty for program UI and such. Games look better but will run at lower FPS due to the number of pixels to be rendered.

Ghosting with a PS4?

Will I be able to run 1 monitor off HDMI and 1 off DVI both at 1440p?

Acer K272HUL 27" 1440p OR Dell UltraSharp U2515H 25" LED 1440p
Edited by: "Kerwood91" 27th May 2015

would this be logical upgrade from my already aging 24" Dell Ultrasharp u2140f with H-IPS 1920x1200?
The acer seems to be "dedicated" for gamers and I use it for photo video editing

Waits for the "not 0.01ms" brigade. 15ms is best for gaming. 14ms for movies

I ordered the amazon.co.uk/Ben…DVG for 239£. Should i cancel my order and go for the acer? Which one is better?

My son plays TF2 pretty much exclusively and has GTX660 GPU. Will this monitor give him much benefit over Iiyama E2407HDS?

Also how will this monitor be for his ms office usage for homework and his internet browsing experience.

Browsing/homework will be more productive with the screen real estate. Colours and viewing angles will be much better, now the bad news...
His current screen has 2m pixels, this one has 3.7m pixels so will almost half performance of his card, if he can hit 110fps now on TF2 then he should hit 60 with this monitor.

It'd be a bit of a waste if you're planning on using one of these for a PS4.

Thank you for putting it in simplistic layman's terms. It's what I need. If he has an i3 processor is it feasible to replace his GPU to achieve same fps, or am I thinking this through incorrectly. If it is what would you suggest

I can make use of his GTX 660

Increase in resolutions usually don't affect CPU requirements - that being said I comfortably played BF3 on GTX 660 at 1440p.

I have the U2515H. It's a great monitor.

I'm kind of wishing that I hadn't seen this deal now though as I'd have loved to buy a 27 IPS for around the £200 mark at 1440, although saying that some reviews seem to imply that there's a lot of backlight bleed with this Acer.

Depends how much you value having 1440 over 1080, and whether you would otherwise spend that £60 on food for your kids, or illegal drugs. 1440-1080=360 so definitely not a bad deal, but xbox360-Xbox one=xbox359 so it's horses for courses. HTH

No, no. you need dual-link DVI to do 1440p. If your card has it you can do one monitor at native res. The HDMI will top out at 1080p on that card.

the__cat

It says like new and when i contact them they told me that only the boxing has some imperfections. Also they comply with amazon rules so i can return it if i notice that it's been used. The thing that put me off in Acer in the huge input lag it has(benq has as well but less than acer still) and also the Acer one looks a bit more cheap compared to the Benq

Yes yes yes. Just to repeat, yes...

Runs off to research how a set top box will make TV look on this.

I run my PC and box through a 1080 monitor.

Yes, the other one is crap.

Nope, sorry, depends on a graphic card you have, really. I’ve just connected I5+8GB and geforce 650 1GB setup and it can just about drive my old Dell 2711 (same 1440p) with windows 8.1 eye-candy unrestricted. More than noticeable difference against I7/970 even in HD hw-accelerated video playback/office/adobe applications even just viewing image-heavy files. To play any recent games you’d need gf760 or above, really, for example GTA5/Witcher 3 plays okay only on mid/low settings at 1440p and both look much better at 1080p with HRtextures/postprocessing on.
That 27” AOS 1080p looks a better option for gaming therefore if you have anything less than gf760. £60 cheaper and better panel/design/plus amazon service. Very good TFTcentral review on it as well tftcentral.co.uk/rev…htm.

Cheapest 1440p I've seen yet

wouldn't touch Acer monitors again. their 4k gsync and 1440p ips gysnc monitors have been getting rma'd a he'll of a lot.

this might be ok but not worth the chance in my opinion. they do horrible bezels too

brit151

Umm Is it worth paying £60 more for 1440 compared to 1080?

yes, 1080 looks crap after you have used 1440

Very good deal. Couldn't find a 1440p this cheap anywhere. Ebuyers cheapest 1440p was just under £300.

The reviews on Overclockers say that it's a great monitor for being under £300 (pre-sale). Under £200 is brilliant. Ordering one now.

You should be looking for a 1600P replacement. 16:9 is perfectly fine if you haven't tried better, but it's a difficult adjustment to downgrade.

You can research importing Korean displays for under £300 with a 30" 1600P IPS panel (16:10, like your current screen), which would be better for photo editing and video editing.

(For gaming it's a more difficult choice, as you can't get a 120Hz or Gsync 1600P screen yet, so you have to compromise somewhere.)
