The AOC panel posted here is a better deal I would say - it has this beat on most metrics for the same price

Better refresh @ 75hz
Better Panel Tech - VA
Bigger Panel @ 31.5"
Also has Freesync variable refresh

Want one of these, my previous 27" blew up... The kettle lead came loose and power surged some of the PCBs... Never got round to fixing it....

Perfect excuse to buy one!!! Grab an 8 ganger SP extension lead from one of the other hukd threads so it never happens again with your new 27" monitor

I would get AOC instead of this, faster refresh rate, freesync and better looking stand. AOC also got more inputs.

Thanks. If they were pretty much equal is spec, I would have chosen the acre. 27" is more suitable and practical than the 31"

Not at expert but here are the actual specs:

Acer
acer.com/ac/…E01

AOC
eu.aoc.com/en/…pec

The Acer has 1ms the AOC has 5ms refresh
The Acer has 350 nits the AOC has 250 nits brightness
The Acer has 100,000,000:1 the AOC has 3000:1 contrast

The AOC is 31" the Acer is 27"

So other than the "freesync" & ports think its more of a size thing, I like the Acer as it hasn't got those great big fat top & side bezels, which if you have 3 together make a difference, side by side.

No interest in gaming, so cannot help there, but if you are buying more than one to put together as a gaming set up, would consider a bigger 4k instead for the cost of 3 of the Acers

Freesync is only if you have AMD graphics.

Refresh times don't really matter beyond a certain point. Under 16ms? Probably good, unless it's a 144hz monitor. Also any contrast ratio over about 5000:1 is using dynamic ratios (dimming the screen when dark things are shown) and you would never want to enable that on a PC monitor. TV sure, but not a monitor. Throws your colour calibration completely out of whack.

The AOC is the better monitor for image quality, viewing angles, refresh rate, closeness to the magic 96 DPI value. Size is the only downside, but if you can fit 27" you can generally fit 31", heck there's a 39" on my desk right now alongside a 27 :P
Sadly not IPS....
