Do they make any 4k IPS screens with a 1ms response time?

It strikes me that every IPS deal gets slated for having too large a response time, but every screen with a 1ms response time gets slated for being TN.

This. It’s exactly why I haven’t bought a monitor yet. I think something looks good but then the comments slate it and tell me to look at something else, so I do. But then same happens again and I get confused. Being told to “do my research” sucks when everything conflicts

They do, but they're typically over a grand.

Depending on your budget and needs a TN panel is absolutely fine if you want a fast refresh rate (for FPS games for example), if you want better colours and go for an IPS. There are also VA panels which have a better contrast ratio.

The below link does a good job of detailing the practical differences about halfway down

They need to stop quoting the dynamic contrast ratio on displays that can't do multi zone backlight dimming. Misleading is an understatement.

That was actually really helpful reading. Thank you. I think after reading that, a TN panel will be find for our needs. Well, my sons. He would prefer the faster response time to colour quality. So at least I know what I am aiming for! Thank you ^-^
