Acer site says its a 1050TI "up to 4GB VRAM".
I might hold out...the new nitros are coming very soon

Not quite true i have a i5 which contains a 4GB varient of the 1050.
8GB GDDR5 memory? Good price for a well-specced machine, maybe there is something better coming but then that's always the case, where do you draw the line? 1050 is a good balance of performance and cost.

There is a 1050 (non-Ti) with 4GB VRAM, Dell uses it in a few of their machines as well.
Looking for a laptop to play league of legends. This looks good but didn't want to spend over £500, anyone got any suggestions?

I know most laptops run league easily so I was hoping for one to be able to run at full HD, high settings at 60FPS if possible.

Would this not be better and £50 less?

Could probably get by with a Ryzen 5 with integrated graphics to be fair, it's designed to suit lower-end hardware pretty well.

Never seen a budget laptop with 8GB dedicated video memory, not saying it does not exist but i think it is more likely a typo from Game but still you can try it for 30 days then return it as not as described if it is not 8GB dedicated video card memory.

It's not that, it's that the 1050 and 1050 Ti don't address that much memory, you usually see the 1050 in 2GB and 4GB GDDR5 and the 1050 Ti in 4GB GDDR5 variants only.

Website says up to 4GB GDDR5 so it's obviously a typo or error:
acer.com/ac/…002

Not a big loss, the 1050 Ti is hardly memory starved.

What are you on about, GDDR4 hasn't been used for years. Get your facts straight. It even says it in the title and main body...

My facts are straight, you didn't specify it was the graphics card you were on about, I was talking about the RAM, the graphics card is not 8gb GDDR5, the RAM is 8gb GDDR4.

What is wrong with you? The G in GDDR (Graphics Double Data Rate) stands for GRAPHICS, you are talking about the system RAM which is DDR4 - note the absence of the 'G' at the start. At least admit when you're wrong... Everyone else in the thread has been talking about the graphics card having 8GB memory, why would a laptop having 8GB system memory be odd at this price - answer, it's not.

In fact I read my original comment, I even referenced the graphics card in it and didn't ever mention system memory.

AHH bobs, I admit i was wrong, my bad, I was putting G on the DDR for the RAM confusing the two. The graphics card isn't 8gb though, that I was 100% correct on haha because this model nitro isnt 8gb graphics, this model only has 4.

Thanks for admitting it. Yes, the graphics card isn't 8GB, that's literally all everyone has been discussing and whether they can buy and return it if it's wrong, which it will be as the 1050 Ti doesn't have an 8GB variant - pretty sure you need GTX 1070 or above for that.
What do game do with returns? Resell as open box?
Should i get this or an i5 8th gen? I'd be using it for graphic design work including Adobe Illustrator, which is a heavy duty program

(I suppose it doesn't matter because I currently have an i7 4th gen lmao)

Actually, use a credit card directly: the Consumer Credit Act gives the consumer more protection than PayPal offers.

So is what you're saying, the OP's Laptop isn't as good for that usage scenario then? (graphics based work, etc).

Or should something more powerful (and possibly twice as expensive along with it), be preferable instead, etc?, thanx.
Good screen? Looking for something for premiere Pro (simple stuff), bit of gaming and watching movies
