This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

A very well spec'd machine with a 6 core i7 which has a base clock of 2.60GHz and can max out at 4.50GHz. Of course there is the 512 NVMe drive in there that will keep things running quickly too. Graphics wise it's the 6GB GTX 1660Ti, so not to be sniffed at for the cash here. The panel is indeed an IPS 1080p model that supports 144Hz refresh rates.

You might want to upgrade the RAM to 16GB later down the line to get more out of the machine, but 8GB should be just fine.

You'll also be able to claim a free Nitro headset and backpack, as the promo states you get both the a Nitro 7 laptop - More info HERE - The promo is also listed on the Box Page

  • Intel Core i7-9750H Hexa-core Processor
  • 15.6" Full HD IPS 144Hz Screen
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD
  • Dedicated GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB Graphics
  • USB 3.1 Type-C | HDMI 2.0 | Bluetooth 5.0

Bought this very same laptop a couple of months ago. Very good spec, but can get a bit noisy/warm under stress.

You'll also want to stick another hard disk in it at some point, as 500GB will fill up quickly. Luckily there's a spare M.2 port and space for a 2.5" drive (there's a connector included to attach this).

This sounds like it's the most flexible laptop. I've not heavily researched it but I've never known leave space for AND provide a connector for an extra drive before now.

I bought the HP Omen 15-dc1024na yesterday and this also has a spare hdd bay and M.2 slot

Really good flexibility for upgrades, also has 8gb ram in one slot with another slot free, so I'll be buying another 8gb stick and installing it soon!

Yeah that was one of the main plus points that pushed me towards this laptop. I don't think I've seen another laptop with so much scope for upgrade (I'm sure there is another, I just haven't come across it).

And given the spec and space inside for expansion, its not that bulky either. OK, it's no Razer Blade Stealth (I have one of those to compare it against), but it's hardly a behemoth like some of the top-end Alienware or ROG machines.

I'd love a gaming laptop, but I wouldn't want to buy one without seeing it first and that really limits the choice. I also have no real need for one, but it's still nice to look.

Sounds like a decent machine also. Have you got a link for it?

I know some people would prefer laptop memory as dual channel (so 2x 4gb) but at least with 1x 8gb you can put another 1x 8gb stick in, as opposed to having to buy 2 x 8gb and then having 2 spare 4gb.

Got curry's to price match it and got 15% cashback with Quidco

Yeah exactly, the fact they've put in an 8gb stick with a slot free shows they've really thought about the upgradability of the laptop!
Does this one have a metal or plastic outer case?
Now with Red Dead Redemption 2
I am considering buying this laptop, but i have found that the Acer Helios 300 laptop has the same cpu, same gpu, same ram, same ssd, same room for upgrades (ram slot and hdd slot), same brand, and most importantly, same price!

So I am blocked by a seemingly impossible decision. I was hoping someone might spot some relevant difference between them. I noticed a difference in the type and amount of ports, but both seem fine. In particular, both seem capable to run a VR headset from what I was told in that other thread.

I’d appreciate any useful info or opinion!

The helios 300 is sold out right now
I finally bought the Nitro 7!! The 144Hz screen and slightly lower weight, as well as the more discrete looks of the laptop, finally helped me decide for it vs the Helios 300.

So far I am loving it, what a laptop, so fast, all my games running great, Windows loading instantaneously.... Usual feedback is the noisy fan when playing a game on very high settings, but I’ll just use the headset that came with this offer (waiting for it, as it comes separately from Acer).
