This is good for more than light gaming in my experience but the word light gaming could mean different things to different people. I would consider the integrated vega 8 graphics as suitable for light gaming the 560 is a much higher tier above in laptop gaming

Depends on your definition of 'light'.

Running Planet Coaster on medium is fine. Obviously larger parks will start to show the limits.

But £400 for this is bloody good, considering I've just bought the same for £475.

You won't be playing (m)any games on a sub £350 laptop that's for sure - this is a steal with the £100 credit.
How's a gaming laptop like this compare to a standard laptop with similar specs with less focus on gaining but rather a laptop for working or studying & surfing Web on?
Is this definitely for new accounts only? The voucher pops up when I log in. If it works for existing accounts I’m in

It's for anybody with a credit account. You need to use the code and put it on BNPL 6 Months. You will then get the 20% back as a credit to your account.
Ok so I have just opened up a credit account I also close to checking out if use the new customer and get 10% off and then the bnpl code do you think they would accept both? also just before I push that button would anyone recommend this for an 8year old to most probs play fortnite don't want to buy a laptop that will be crap but don't want to pay higher then this.. thanks

Great spec'd laptop for a 9 year old. Absolutely fine for everyday use with the bonus that it has a dedicated graphics card so if they decide they want to play a bit of Minecraft or even *sigh* Fortnite then they can. (sure, not on Ultra grade graphics but certainly playable)

Sounds like you need to get on to Very - it's advertised on the site as available to anyone with a credit account (assuming you have enough credit available?).

"
  • 1. Buy an eligible Windows computer £299.99 or more from this offer on 6 months Buy Now Pay Later. All eligible products are contained within the offer page, access via shop now. (Offer not valid if you choose 9 or 12 months Buy Now Pay Later).
  • 2. By entering PEHE6 in the promo code box at checkout your item will be put on 6 months Buy Now Pay Later automatically. We'll then credit 20% of the item back to your account by 9th January 2020 or the dispatch date, whichever is later. We'll email you when we have applied the credit to your account.
Order must be placed online. If you return your item, the credit will be reversed. This can't be used in conjunction with other offers (entering any other promo code apart from PEHE6 in checkout will exclude you from this promotion). Offer live 14th – 20th November 2019.
"

I'd also try using the code on a PC and not your phone.

See my post with the terms above with regards to using another code.

You are NOT going to get ANY laptop that will play games for anything near this money other than this one. If you want better you need to pay more - much more.
Just been onto online chat and the code not working - for me anyways. Shame as it looks the perfect deal for me. I’ll sit tight for BF
sorry, may seem a stupid question - when they say the 20% credit will be applied to your account -can this definitely be used to pay towards this as first purchase?? it's not going to be a credit on your account to use against future purchases is it?

They will just stick £100 in your account - here's the email I got:

"Thanks for purchasing the Acer Nitro 5 AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, AMD... that comes with credit back to your account.

Just so you know, we will be processing your credit of £100.00 by 09/01/2020.

Details will be shown on your statement within the ‘Payments Applied’ section.

You don’t need to do anything but if you decide to return the item in the meantime, the credit will either not be applied or will be reversed.

Thanks for shopping with Very."

I plan to just pay the £399.99 to my account, leaving this £100 to clear the balance in Jan.

I messaged two people on HUD who purchased an Asus TUF laptop about a month or two ago on BNPL 20% off, the credit was applied to both their accounts but one of them is claiming it can't be used to offset the price of the laptop, @Gary_Ainsworth do you mind confirming on here?
ordered this ysterday - just logged in to check order status to be greeted with 'Sorry, this order has been declined' - price was too good to be true I guess!
My order went through at last. 6 months bnpl clearly applied but mail recieved contains nothing about the 20% credit. Got loads of screen grabs tho thanks op.
I ordered yesterday and it has already been delivered today everything went through smoothly.

You are not offsetting the price of the laptop per se - they are applying the 20% back by way of a credit on your account - in this case £100.

If you already have a balance to pay as well as then adding the laptop on then the £100 will go towards whatever your earliest expiring balance is - the £100 is just treated as if you have made £100 payment yourself.

If, like me, you ONLY have the laptop on credit then it will go towards that purchase, leaving you with £399.99 to come up with between now and 6 months.

I've done this several times in the past with similar credits for laptops and iPads and the payment is just treated as if you had made it yourself.

i.e. - I already had a laptop with £200 left to pay BNPL, I added another laptop at £500 with 20% back - the £100 was credited to my account and it reduced the balance of the FIRST laptop by the £100, leaving £100 to pay on that (as the BNPL was expiring sooner) and then STILL leaving the £500 to pay on the new laptop.

Hope that makes sense?!

I do not see the code and I have progressed as far as step before completing the order, I have so tried the codes mentioned in this thread but none work. Can you let me know on which page you were presented with the code.

It's right below the price on the item page:

20% back Enter PEHE6 at checkout to order on 6 months Buy Now Pay Later and get your credit back on this item.

Interest is calculated and compounded for the delayed payment period and is added to your account as a lump sum when this ends.

Remember, avoid interest by paying the cash price before the end of the delayed payment period, this can be done in one full payment or multiple partial payments.

Offer ends 20th November 2019

Yes, no bother I would say on most of those (maybe Forza on med settings.).
Chuffed with ours - 2 x 4GB installed as well, not just 1 x 8GB
