ACER's website say it's Android, so it must be Android therefore the Nvidia shield would be a better buy.
If it ran Windows it wouldn't be much of a gaming tablet, since there are barely any games on the Windows Store and you can be damn sure this won't be running GTA V.

There are plenty of games in the Windows store. Stop being an Andriod/iSheep fanboi and stick to posting about things you actually know about.

I have a Windows laptop and a gaming PC. By 'hardly any games' I meant that the power of the machine, coupled with the fact that you would almost exclusively have to stick to the Store for gaming content, means that this being an Android machine isn't necessarily a disadvantage - as there are a lot more games. I'm sorry if I offended you in some way.

There is an astronomical library of games on Windows, but you'd be pretty much stuck with Windows Store content, which is not as good as the App Store or Play Store. Wasn't trying to offend any fans of Windows as I'm a user myself. My Surface Pro could just about play Skyrim if you knocked the settings back, but that has an i5 and 8GB of RAM. Doubt this would be much cop for Steam games.

I'm certainly not offended I suppose you mean due to the control method? I imagine there's a few indie games that would be playable though, and old point and clicks? Wow I now must immediately try to run scummVM / dott!!!

Anywall, all moot since this is a droid

If it was windows just think of all the PC ISOs (old ones obviously) you can install and play. Just close your eyes, relax and think for a minute

This is true, though you'd have to start plugging in peripherals and suchlike.

~Control method, but also lack of horsepower means that even if you did manage to run a game at 15fps on the lowest res possible you would have to stick it on life support - adding USB peripherals. I found that the bluetooth controllers on these cheap devices didn't support things like PS3 pads either.
ARM Processors are still better for android gaming, X86 not so much as a lot of games are not optimised for that architecture on Android so seems a old choice to go with a Intel Atom here.
