Think this is a cracking price from Curry’s for a full GTX2060 15.6” laptop?

i7 9750H
16GB RAM (2133hz)
144hz IPS LCD display with GSync (1080HD)
GeForce RTX 2060 6GB

Also comes bundled with:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
6 months free Spotify
Free 3 year warranty from ACER (ends 31/10)
Backpack (ends 31/10)
Mouse (ends 31/10)

Also Quidco for a further 1% cashback

Thoughts appreciated - looking for a good spec gaming laptop and general workhorse. Previously wanted an MSI GE65 Stealth 8RE/F but this looks a better choice?

This laptop would look so good if they didn't write predator all over it lol. Anyone know what the cooling is like on this thing? I'd expect it to throttle. So far as the price...doesn't seem incredible but not bad either. It's good it comes with the new cod cus was going to buy that anyway....so thats a bit off.

2060 not amazing I would like a 2070 at least for this price... 2060 is just a beefed 1060 and is the lowest of the new cards so pretty soon wont be playing games in anything better than medium at 60fps+ so for 1.5k+would expect 2070+ tbh... maybe I'm asking to much but just seems a lot.
Hp direct had / may still have 2070 with 3 year warranty and 240hz display for £1550 and dell had/have a 2060 g5 for £1150 or £1250 with 3 year on site warranty this doesn’t seem that great therefore and if you can wait Black Friday will likely be better

Regrettably I couldn’t wait hence my knowledge of the 9750 equipped laptops. Though it is a dell the g5 undervolted (very easy to do) is pretty good imho a and nicely understated though the discounts may change everything

Yeah could wait forever tbh...of you like it and you feel was a fair price then you won.
I believe the Triton has a flipped motherboard so upgrading it means taking a lot of it apart (unlike the cheaper Helios which had a standard motherboard orientation)

Same as the MSI Stealth then
Yeah - I can’t really wait for Black Friday unfortunately. Want something that’s going to last 2/3 years and be able to play all games at 1080hd on ultra strings now. Not much difference between 8750h and 9750h so really comes down to the card and screen? Any suggestions welcome. This offer is the cheapest price for the model anywhere I can find - but possibly not the best spec for price out there?
For 1.5k, I’m expecting 2070

Not so easy to find though - not one that I can come across. Closest I’ve found is via Euro PC for a refurb Alienware at £1295+VAT?

Basically the thin and light tax.
Well. I can’t find a single 2070 anywhere on the internet for sub £1499 other than a ROG refurb. Plenty of G5 15 with 2060 refurbs from Dell Outlet for between £1100 and £1400.

Interested to find exactly where people think they will be getting a 2070 from for £1500 because I cannot find any...?!

I suspect it's just that time of year, not many laptop offers on right now, with Black Friday coming up fairly soon. The Dell G7 with a 2070 has been around £1200 very recently - hotukdeals.com/dea…850 so I think it just depends how urgently you need a laptop. I'm on the lookout myself but suspect I'll be waiting a little while for the offers to come again.

You could look for a "cheaper" i5 9300h, 16gb, 1660ti combo. That'll play 1080p high for at least 3 years I reckon if 60fps is your goal, then sell it at 2 years old and start another mid range cycle........

Using this method can actually be cheaper in the long run than keeping a High end laptop for longer, as once they get too old resale value falls of a cliff
