I'd probably rather have to choose between freesync monitors than gsync... they're £100 cheaper!

Sometimes it feels like no choice, when you spend £600 plus on a Nvidia graphics card your kind of roped in to getting it. :-(

it really is! Shame it's an IPS and the quality of the panel is quite varied according to many reports (lots of issues regarding backlight corner bleed)

well in that case it's a no brianer! BUY BUY BUY..... although I can't really be arsed sending my new Dell back so I'll just go cry in a dark room somewhere :'(

You lot know this is 1080p, right? It's within reaching distance of the exact same spec monitors with 1440p res... (27" G-sync TN). XB271HUA is like £450 and it's the very same series, all same specs apart from 100% more pixels.

£1 for 1 extra pixel?

Actually I was a bit off and it's more like 80% extra pixels. But still, if you're going to pay £350 for something that's going to last you years, I feel the extra £100 is a small investment for a big return. Technically, each £1 would be 16128 pixels....

That's the same argument many enthusiasts have it seems. "If you invest x, you might as well invest y" Many people have a budget and even though I agree with you slightly, many can't afford the extra 100 bombs.

Agreed the 1440p resolution is a good option but that's more cash I got to justify. XB271HUA was @ £436.43 posted below. hotukdeals.com/dea…378.

"That's the same argument many enthusiasts have it seems". I also totally get what you're saying, but, and this is just my opinion, I think it's a bit facetious to talk about budgets and saving money when you're looking at a £350 gaming-specific 27" G-sync 144hz monitor. It's a big investment for a niche product, and especially since it's going to last you a long time, it seems more than sensible to either pony up the £100 for the 1440p version, or wait until you can afford it.

Been waiting for a gsync monitor to appear on daily deal. Shame it's TN. I wanted ips. Might just wait for x34p and 1080ti. Not long now.... Got 2 grand budgeted for it.

Going for this will probably save a lot more in long run as wouldn't have to upgrade the graphics card as often or as expensively to keep up with 1080p rather than 1440p

I was undecided for ages about 1080 or 1440 but wanted g-sync and 144hz and for the money went for this Phillips one at £278.99 and really pleased with it.

Out of stock at £289.99 but comes back in stock regularly.
The new pascal cards have pushed g-sync up to silly prices now.

Great find still a bit out of my price range but it's getting close.

Need 1440p at that "

Thought it was 1440p for a second and got excited then saw it was only 1080p

That's certainly not a non-issue. Personally, I'd still buy the more future-proof monitor and play at 75% scaling in the modern titles and 100% in older titles until I upgraded GPU, but I can see where people might not want to do the same.

1080p on 27''? I'm afraid you'll be ashamed to look at that thing if you buy it.
