Lowest I've seen and a good £130 cheaper than its Dell competitor, the S2716DG. Note this is the TN and not the IPS version.

Just to balance your view, I bought this exact monitor last year from amazon warehouse for £385 (after 20% discount) with the same worry. I'm surprised when the item arrived, it is still in top condition and most of the seals are still intact. No problem found so far (1 year exactly) and really pleased with it

£529.99 on overclockers, heat from me.

Damn really want a new monitor to go with my GTX 1070.. but spending is out of my price range right now (black friday/Xmas shopping killing me lol).. would anyone recommend me trying to buy a used one from Amazon warehouse maybe (very good condition)? Not sure on the warranty though

It seems rather hit and miss. Worst case scenario is it isn't up to standard and you send it back at no loss to yourself.

Thanks for the advice people.. I'm gonna take the plunge and get a very good used one from the Amazon warehouse (£315 after 20% discount).. wish me luck

I ordered one just before that one appeared.. it didn't say anything about dead pixels.. mine had:

Small scratches on bottom of item (less than 3.5 cm. x 3.5 cm.). Small scratches on back of item (less than 1 in. x 1 in.). Small scratches on screen (less than 0.6 cm. x 0.6 cm.). Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged. All purchases eligible for Amazon customer service and a 30-day return policy."

Good luck (on getting good one first time). Don't worry, your money is safe with amazon. Even after a year (apparently up to 3 years but i never tried) if you found problem, you can always return and get your money back.

Really? I thought there was no warranty for Amazon warehouse used products, apart from the 30 days money back for returned products

Damn, only one used left with dead pixels

Nope. I know it's confusing but contact them and you will find the same. Warranty Period is 1-3 years for electronics

This is indeed the lowest. I bought on the previous lowest at a glitch price of £427 on release. This is a very good monitor.

Is it worth getting? Especially a TN panel for this price?

Hot but for anyone who isn't sucked in to the nonsense around resolution this is a far better deal hotukdeals.com/dea…453

With dead pixel warnings on Amazon Warehouse, my impression is that this is just put in in case you open up the box and find dead pixels. I just recieved a monitor listed as having 1-2 dead pixels, and it arrived in near mint condition with no dead pixels. Think it's just someone working at the processing centre who wants to cover all bases just in case.

You are incorrect sir. I got this screen for £400 from the warehouse over a year ago. It was described as having a large, 4cm scratch on the rear. Turned out to be a scratch near the cable connectors from unplugging a DP cable, which is a) recessed and hidden b) covered by my DP port cable d) on the rear anyway! Everything else was perfect. They always note dead pixels in the item description, and these TN panels have no problems with backlight bleed (unlike their IPS cousins). Whatever the case, you can still return if you are not happy within 14 days under distance selling regulations (though they might offer a partial refund if it is something minor as an option, which you do not need to accept).

I used 27" 1080p HP monitors at work as an e-learning designer, i've also used one at home for 5yrs +.

This is simply wrong, that other one is only 1080.

You are incorrect sir. I got a screen described as 'very good' which had a puncture hole through the front of the lcd.

Been looking for a gsync 1440p for a while, had this one and the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278QR on my list(both TN panel). Both the Acer and Asus dropped price, so i went for the Acer instead. Asus dropped to £493.41

Anyone thinking of buying this should check out this review limscave.com/ace…hua which tells you that the lowest brightness is 127 (this is slightly above the recommended 120 for office work). For some people that will be okay but if you're in a dark room even half that might be too bright. My current monitor goes down to 25cd/m2 at 0 setting, and I use it at 40cd/m2 for games. Any higher I get eyestrain and a migraine.

Not got this myself but a freind tells me its a top class monitor

I think these are starting to get cheaper because the x27 is on the way (January apparently). If you're a bleeding edge techno-snob like me, it may be worth waiting, but if not this is a good deal!

I bought this monitor last year for £550, amazing screen and once you go 144 you won’t go back!

Exactly the same as you, I bought this last year for the same price. It's a fantastic bit of kit, the TN panel is first-rate so I can't say there's much missing by it not being IPS as it stands out as being far superior to my other 2 monitors in terms of colours and brightness. And as you say, 1440p is just brilliant, even for day-to-day web browsing, but in games its just a massive step up.

I had a very good 55" TV brought to a top floor flat which didn't turn on, that was fun returning it

I didn't even notice this was a TN panel! Mine is IPS.

X27 is coming soon but it'll be expensive to start with. It's basically the pinnacle of current technology. You probably won't get one below £1000.

Depends if you want more eye candy or quicker speed. This monitor's settings will need to be adjusted out of the box to make it pop, but I am very happy with it.

If this is anything like the 1080p model then it will lose its memory if you turn off the screen. You can save it to a preset but you have to change it to that profile manually each time you turn the monitor on. The standby rotates colours when off so it's pretty much necessary to turn it off unless you want a light show.

If anyone can confirm if this model still has that problem then it would be great.

EDIT: Found a way to fix it! Press and hold the menu button and button above it together and it will take the monitor out of 'factory' mode.

Had been looking at this for quite a while and finally too the plunge Friday (and got it by Saturday!!), it's an amazing monitor and this price is the second cheapest new.

My only complaint is that I think it has a dead pixel... now and again one turns red... i poke it and it goes away for a while... but i might send it back and ask for another.

Ordered it yesterday, even though out of stock... hopefully they'll get more stock soon.

I see the price is up to £499.99 today, so marked as expired.
