He only has a regular ps4 so he doesn't get the benefit of the 4K yet. Next Christmas he will get the ps4 pro. i know he'll take care of it and it will last him a few years so I went a little over budget to get the best specifications I could. I also got him a head set deal that I saw on here 'hyper cloud' (??) they are also black and red so they go great with the monitor.

Waste of G-Sync and 240Hz lol

Good price considering the premium of G-Sync.

Yeah that's a perfect example of someone getting things they just don't need, 240hz will be irrelevant for consoles for years, and I think they use amd graphic cards as well so g-sync is pointless, and this monitor is only 1080p, and that is the direction new consoles are going, higher resolutions

This is the issue with the pc fanboy community, they are quick to criticise and tell you what to do, but not so much tell you why and explain it.

The max supported FPS on consoles is 60 as of this moment... 240 Hz is the refresh rate of the monitor and unless you are getting close to 240 FPS on what ever you will be using it with, a monitor like this would be a waste. ( That's all you had to say...)

Consoles tend to target the casual gamers who have no need for higher FPS. The other reason for as to why consoles might never have higher than 60 fps on games is the fact that the hardware required would drive the cost of the console up, after all they still have to make money.

Since consoles are limited to 1080p 60 fps, the best bet would be to either buy a larger size (and or resolution) monitor with an IPS panel display. IPS tends to produce better colours so at least the monitor would provide more visually appeasing footage. Keep in mind you would still want a responce time of less than 5ms for a gaming monitor...

*edit: G-sync is a feature only utilised by PC's that have an NVidia brand Graphics card.

I agree it's overkill for now, but like I said he will have it for a few years. I thought the price was really good so I went for it, I ha the money saved. Hes 15, not 8. He's getting more and more into computing. He's happy so I'm happy 🏻

The debate over G-SYNC and 240Hz is largely irrelevant with this monitor. 1080p at 27" is the issue and because of that this is still way overpriced and not a good purchase choice.

It's a *fantastic* purchase if you greatly prioritize performance over image quality which plenty of enthusiast gamers do.

Stop assuming your own preferences are universal.

1080p at 27" is not horrible at all, either.

People saying this should be 4k for the price - y'all realize this is a 240hz monitor, right? It's a hyper performance monitor. Its market is not for those looking for the best image quality at all. This is like complaining that a Ferrari is a bad buy because they lack storage space.

Who even designed this? No one wants a 1080p 27" screen, no one needs G-Sync on a 240hz monitor and the stand takes up way too much desk space.

Why do you not need g-sync on a 240hz monitor?

You go for it and enjoy running your 1080Ti at 1080p in order to actually achieve 240Hz, in some games.

Maybe to competitive CSGO players then this is ideal i would agree, but for ordinary folksd, i don't think so.

Lots of people use 27" 1080p screens. Like myself. People really gotta stop assuming their own preferences are universal. It's bizarre how small minded so many are.

You dont need to reach the cap of 240fps to benefit.

And plenty of people play less demanding games that certainly can get up to the ~200fps range without some top of the line system.
