this is the same specs as the Tesco device that was 180 last week but it says a mouse and keyboard are included too which is probably worth 20 pounds and this is the best price for it currently also?

anyone that bought it last week care to share what they thought? is this machine only good for streaming tv or is it ab decent computer for using programs on also ?

I purchased the Revo with the Intel Celeron 4GB ram version during the black friday deal for £100. I've got Kodi on it and it runs smoothly. Upgraded it to Windows 10 too which works better than Windows 8 imo. So my spec is lower than this but I'm very happy with it so for that spec I think its decent. I got the remote/touch pad but much prefer a keyboard/trackpad as its easier! This mini pc is great. Its nice and quiet and tiny enough to hide behind a photo frame!

This looks to be exactly the same but says remote instead of keyboard for 40 more, so I wonder if you don't get the remote on this one, I heard its not great anyways but veryb strange all these packages

The remote isn't worth £40. Best going for your original keyboard option and keep the £40. If you're looking a small remote (which can be handy at times) you will probably be able to pick up something cheaper (and probably better) on ebay or Amazon.
Anyone interested in buying this should Flubit it.
Ok I have to ask, is the onboard graphics card capable of running Pro Evo?
can you change the graphics card to a gtx 750ti?
Seems a great deal. Remember, if this had an apple on it, they would call it a pro and sell it for at least a grand. Oh at least.

I'm curios if this machine (these specs) will be any good for running all emulators up until and including N64/PS1? Mame too - ideally.

Ditto that! .. ironically I came back to this same Post to also query 'similar' about as to whether the FULL Version of Android could be put onto one of these things also too?, to like stick things like Showbox & the ilk on it, etc, etc, etc? (be it with a Windows Shell in tow?, &/or without ..... ) hmmmmmmmmmmmm, hehehehehehe. :-)

Thanx. :-)

How sodding IRONIC TOO!, hahahaha, u basically got ALMOST 'Twice the PC' for like 'Half the Price'?, literally ..... nice!. :-)

Your 'Deal' from the link u supplied/gave me now reads this:

"'Acer Revo One RL85 1TB Celeron Nettop' is discontinued; here are some similar products." .. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well?. :-(

Thanx for the speedy reply back anyway, lol. :-)

If u come across 'similar' in the future, can u holler me please?. :-)
Only just over 3 weeks ago this very same 'Deal' was Posted too here:

hotukdeals.com/dea…683

And got just 65 degrees heat, & this one gets at least 186 degrees heat & counting ..... no figure?.
If you put this machine into context decent streaming boxes are between 50 and 160 pounds, you are getting so much more for you money. With loads of extra features that you might not use now but will later on. Its not a bad little machine at this price.
Just be aware that some models (like the Celeron version that I have) do not support a third HDD - the SATA header has been deleted off the motherboard for some reason by Acer, even though the HDD caddy is still included - go figure...
I use a similar spec'd device as a steam and Xbox one streamer.

Asus Vivo un62

Paid more for it. ( Amazon Christmas vouchers )

Really glad I got it, works brilliantly as a game streamer. Also works very well with PC version of ps4 remote play.

So the acer device posted is a great deal, grab it if you want a brilliant streaming device

I think it would be okay ?

Sure the specs are better than this...

emulation-general.wikia.com/wik…ecs

I remember years and years ago my pc could run a n64 one okay, don't recall the specs but sure it wouldn't be as good as this
They all come with the keyboard & mouse which are incorporated into the remote control. I bought the 1TB Celeron version for £100 on Black Friday, fitted it with a SSD and have an excellent & silent Kodi/Youtube/LAN etc streaming box. Plus I'll be using the replaced 1TB drive to upgrade my laptop, all for less than £140.

You're trolling right?

Gotta be!

750ti is a full size GFX card. This is a micro PC about the size of a small Tupperware box. Of course you can't fit a GFX card in it!

Some come with an actual keyboard and mouse... Not the remote...

There's a remote version of this exact machine specs for 240
I bought the tesco deal.

The box seems ok - but it has so much BLOATWARE

Great minds...

I dont see us getting a definitive response to this question however. I asked initially during the Tesco deal, nobody got back to me and in the meantime it sold out. Let us see.

It would be brilliant under the tv with a load of old school emulators on it, snes and genesis!!! Linked to some ps4 pads... Great when people come round! I'm so close to buying but will be gutted if it's dead laggy after a few weeks or if it doesn't play football manager ! In two minds between this and paying double the price for a bigger desktop
Flubit came back within twenty minutes with a price of: Final Price: £184.98

PS1 is better emulated than N64 - i would be amazed if you can play N64 on this build

Bought at this price before Christmas - passed on to the wife and kids when I got the i5 version for £299

Makes a decent desktop - but needs SSD and rebuild to W10 get the best out of it.

Included keyboard and mouse are functional but cheap - worth no more than £10.

Your welcome mate

Now, I wouldn't say I got almost twice the PC as the one the op posted here has a much better processor, but yes, for half the price isn't too bad lol For what I use it for, I didn't need higher spec. I would use the revo for films, tv shows and some internet browsing. Previously I had a raspberry pi but it wasn't fast or reliable enough for kodi. The revo is perfect for it.

If I come across any similar deals I'll give you a shout

Does the SSD make much of a difference? May I ask, where did you pick up your SSD and can you remember how much it cost?

Not sure I should feel sorry for Apple but give Apple a little credit! Is the Acer Revo made from flight-grade aluminium? No, PC plastic, which looks fine to me but you know what I mean! Do Apple use a i3-4005U in any of their current products? No, it's a circa 2013 lower power consumption CPU used mainly in ultrabooks for long battery life and fairly low heat, and nothing wrong with that if you're not a so-called power user but that we've since had Broadwell U-series CPUs and are now on Skylake, though there isn't yet a Skylake Acer Revo, as far as I can see, and if there were it wouldn't be this price! There is, though, an Acer Revo Broadwell i5, which is a little more tempting than this deal, for me.

Getting back to Apple, the Acer Revo deal, here, is more directly comparable with a Mac Mini, the 2014 model, which Apple haven't updated yet and which uses old an Core i5 4260U and HD 5000 graphics (the Acer, here, uses HD 4400 graphics), which though like the Acer's i3-4005U is a dual core part, it comfortably beats the Acer in benchmarks. But so it should, it's £362.78! The Apple has comparatively little in it that's upgradeable, compared to the Acer.

Have some more heat!
Hi. I bought i5 version with 2 2tb drives in raid. Could anyone please help me and explain step by step how to remove raid? If I switch raid to ahci in bios then PC won't start. Thanks

I have the Celeron version of this as a media PC under the TV. Very, very capable little box and a real bargain. Pretty much silent, too.

One tip: fork out £35 or so for a 120gb SSD from Amazon and install it into one of the spare bays. Then clone the internal drive onto it, change the boot disk in BIOS and - hey presto! - you have a very speedy little PC with an empty 500Gb drive.

Is that all an ssd drive costs ?! Sounds good think I might risk it
How many drives will this take? I know the i5 version eBuyer was selling had a 60GB SSD and two 2TB drives. I think the celeron version will only take two drives but how about the i3 version? Can anyone confirm please?
