Overpowered for it if anything. Just buy a fire tv.

Yes it's fine for your needs. Any basic computer will allow you to use internet and Skype these days. You only need to upgrade if specific needs-video editing, gaming, multitasking , using large files, etc.

Might have to get for a plex server

I have been using a much lower specced one of these as a htpc. Hasn't missed a beat for the 2 years I have had it. Cheers Si

All gone

I *think* the i3 version comes with built in hardware raid.

I could do with something like this, but to edit GoPro 1080p footage (which my MacBook Air, 1.4Ghz C2D can't do). Any recommendations? I'd like a Mac Mini, but would prefer to spend less if possible.

Wow haven't seen this on here in age's! Brilliant little machine... make sure you buy a ssd drive for it tho otherwise it's really slow

An alternative is a gigabyte brix

Would this handle Photoshop?

Shame it's gone. This 2TB version (not new, 3 month warranty) is an alternative. Sell the Hd for a SSD?
2TB version

I picked up one from John Lewis in their clearance sale for £160; definitely a great computer for the price (will probably upgrade with an SSD at some point). It is worth noting it is a lot more compact and attractive than most comparable Windows computers.
