Cracking price, the only offputting thing for me is the slow hdd. I'll have to google if it's easy to just swap the drive out for an ssd. Some laptops are a right pain to swap drives out of.
Says only 4 available...
also 3% cashback from TCB,ends tomorrow and 6X Nectar points as well.
A315-41-R3FT is the actual model.

The 42 you have to take the back off to take out the hdd.

I did find a 41 but was a different model number and that had seperate compartments on the back which made it even easier.

Has anyone got this actual model number and can confirm what the back of it looks like?

Found a video of a A315-41G and that has an M.2 slot hidden and unused, be interested if this one does too.
Bear in mind it's quite heavy at over 2kg...
The battery of 4.5 hours I think translates more into 2 hours or so.

Damn my 7 year old laptop is over 2kg. What's in it?

It would be good as an stationary laptop when RAM and HDD upgraded, but will it be worth the cost and hassle?

More metal and a stronger chassis. Modern laptops haven't necessarily gotten better build quality, even if the silicon is much faster.

Most budget machines like this are worse built now than 10 years ago from my long experience fiddling with laptops. Ever thinner plastic casing, frames and flimsy everything.
Oos
I have managed to grab that one :

I'll add more ram and it should be a pretty good laptop. The reason I didn't get the Ryzen one is that it's to heavy and chunky.

On the face of it, a good price for a Ryzen but it’s a slow one and that hard disk is just criminal. Potentially better off just buying one with the spec you want in the first place.

Doubt. If it’s got a spare m.2 which I think it did £20-30 and it’s now fixed. Add more ram later if you’re need it, but for normal browsing and basic word / excel 4 will actually be alright (don’t go trying to do a massive PowerPoint with big spreadsheets and 50 chrome tabs obviously haha)
