Mine came with a dead pixel, though it did not say so in description. And now they won't replace it, just refund. That mean's i won;t be able to use my pc for at least a week while i send this one off, wait for the money to be refunded and order a new one again.

It's really nice, easy to set up and colors are very nice. Plus i tried the HDMI with my xbox and it's crisp!
Though im thinking of trying to get one with an audio output

Smaller screen?

cold, only 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio

these days you need at least 100,000,000,000,000:1

jus' kidding

yeah i do wish thats one thing i double checked if it had soundoutlet or not but im still very happy with it non the less! now just need another £400 of upgrades and then im finaly done for 10+ years!

Is this monitor better than the Philips 244E1SB TFT LCD 23.6" HDMI Monitor with Speakers on ebuyer for just over £100?

Great monitor, I bought two of these for my office, they look very stylish. The screen is thinner than it looks and the colours look great.

in my eyes i'd rather the acer for the thin-ness (is that even a word?) of the screen and higher contrast

the philips has no LED backlighting

Is it really worth saving just £11 over a brand new one? I know I wouldn't....

Also, Acer seem to be suffering from manufacturing issues these days, going by the low star reviews there.

I last bought an Acer 20" TV for the kitchen - picture OK, but sound quality is really the worst I have ever heard!
Ended up having to add separate PC speakers.

This one 'styled by Pininfarina' amazon.co.uk/gp/…i00

Sadly, I'll be steering clear of the Acer brand in future...

that contract ratio is the worlds biggest lie.

And this is reflected in power consumption: Philips: 45W, Acer only 26W!

Thanks for the help. The Acer doesnt have built in speakers though.

Hi - does anyone know if this has a headphone socket? Thanks

If anyone likes clear images and a qquality picture - stay away from this set. I just returned one a few weeks ago to Amazon. Cheap set with cheap colour reproduction. Go for a BenQ if you're looking a cheap monitor with quality images.

Trustus If it is so poor why has it got so great reviews?

CCLonline is selling a brand new one for GBP114 along with free delivery and 3 year warranty.... Link

Shouldn't it be better getting it from CCL than from Amazon...

The reviews are based on people who are not tech savvy if you read them. Yes it's an ok monitor, it looks good, it's slim and it does what it says on the tin. But the colour reproduction is dreadful and I knew this the minute I turned it on. Check the feedback from people who rated it 3/2/1 stars. Or just order one and see for yourself, everyone is different but I spend a lot of time of the computer, browsing and gaming and I want something that gives me good quality images.

Do you have any recommendations that are with this price besides the benq?

Trustus I want something that gives good images as well. Do you think apart from Benq the Philips and Samsung in the same price category are better?

How about brands such as Ilyama and View Sonic?

I'd go for the phillips as it's cheaper, has speakers and is 75Hz, the Acer is only 60Hz.

I am not an expert but I have an eye for quality and on that note I would simply advise you to avoid this monitor. BenQ have a far better rep when it comes to quality.

BenQ and Ilyama are both great brands in my experience, build quality has always been excellent especially on the Ilyama monitors. I'm holding out for the 2560 x 1440 monitors to come down a bit - probably won't be that long.

Edit, just seen that DGM (Digimate) have ra 2560 res 27" for EU market around £320, cheaper ones can't be far off now.
