Regrettably, the 32GB of storage make it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to update Windows.
Windows laptops with 32GB of storage are a total con.

You'll get more satisfaction giving the £130 to a homeless charity while getting the same results as far as enjoying Windows (i.e. none).

You might get away with a 64GB machine if you are ruthless and install the bare minimum, but 32GB are useless, unless you ditch windows and install a lightweight linux version.

And I speak from experience with a similar machine.

Hope its not like the refurb android tablet I bought from them. Battery shows 40% five minutes later shows 30% then shuts down. Tablet came with a warranty that doesn't cover the battery. Check the small print.
Only 32GB base storage. Also this celeron cpu more or less the same speed as the atom Z8350, maybe slightly better graphic.
I think it does not worth its value against a windows 10 tablet with a detachable keyboard.
That 32GB storage is a real PITA when it comes to Windows 10 anniversary updates.

Single core performance on this one is a lot better - but just two cores.

True, but still negligible performance apart from multimedia, browsing, maybe light work.
None of it capable to do anything else in this price segment.

Are you able to install to m.2 hard drive on this?, if so could be a nice little machine!

I have a 32GB Windows machine and find it very usable, I know it’s tight but it’s definitely not quite that bad. In a pinch, I can use it and never had a problem but I normally get a proper laptop out if nearby.
Worth it for the Bullguard internet security alone which is all the protection you need for PC, Mac or Android

32GB Windows machine very useable?

There's no storage upgrade path on this laptop either as there's no M.2 or SATA slot.

For £130 as a productivity, browsing or media streaming machine, yes. You seem to be confusing this with a business ultrabook or gaming laptop costing many times more.

This machine is a dog. Very slow processor, no meaningful storage, horrible TN panel screen, not particularly light etc.

The deal that was posed for the Swift 1 for only £30 more was light years better than this

Your requirements and expectations probably exceed the person who has limited funds to spend though. I see the Swift 1 deal for the same price but out of stock. At least this machine has 4GB RAM.

But don’t get me wrong, it’s far from my first choice, I’d rather be looking at ex-lease systems (but that’s not for everyone) - got an HP EliteBook 820 G2 for this price the other day, still in warranty with HP and proper Broadwell i5, had 32GB caching SSD and 500GB disk.

Not really. Spending £30 more for an infinitely more useable laptop represents much better financial sense than buying this. This is just going to end up as an expensive paperweight when people realise how limited it is and how problematic that 32GB becomes when Windows starts filling that precious space with detritus simply through usage. Buying a 32GB laptop in 2018 is just madness.

What is the link for that one?

I'm still using a Lenovo IdeaPad 100S occasionally and it has Windows 10, Office 2007 and a Dropbox sync on it with 4GB free, it is running pretty well still, so I don't know then - just keep it in the car for sending the odd email when I don't want to tap it out on the phone.

Just search for the deal for the Swift 1 refurb - posted about a week ago. All gone now as people snapped them all up in an instant.

And if you just want to send the odd email, you would have been better off buying a bluetooth keyboard to leave in the car and saving £100....

There was a Swift 1 at £130 but I figured it had gone out of stock anyway. I don’t want another cheap machine.

Emails with Excel and Word, I should have been more specific - and both those apps are **** on tablets, it’s fine on a proper x86 laptop.

It’s worse on a 5.5” mobile phone.

This isn’t my daily machine, I don’t understand why someone having a use for this type of computer is really difficult . It certainly isn’t for everyone.

It's akin to buying a 3 wheeled car - it goes, it stops etc but you'd really wouldn't want one.
