I think this is better than the Box deal that comes up every now and again as it has 8gb ram.

Although the i3 processor is an older version, the 8 GB of ram will go a long way to making this a pretty good performer for day to day use with the ssd. Touch screen is an added bonus. Good value for money and heat from me.
This is a very good price for a respectable budget laptop. I have just purchased this for someone as a result of this, for use mainly as a web browser.

Screen resolution is 1920 x 1080
The processor is one generation up on the review model, so the specs will be a little better. It also has a touch screen and a hinge that allows the screen flipped 360degress so it is a versatile laptop.

I'm curious, is it really 1.7 kg as the review states?
If so, I'd need to find something more portable...
Good deal, solid little laptop. This has 8GB Ram and 7th gen i3 not the 6th Gen, Is it the backlit version?
Time for a short video.

yes it is 1.7kg , it is around 200 grams heavier than the lighter laptops which may be a big deal for some - lighter alternatives are the lenovo yoga, which will cost more and have lower spec (around £400) for a basic model or a refurbished 2nd hand Lenovo Carbon which was around £410. I haven't seen anything better for close to this price.
Thx

I'm using Teclast F5 and it's 1kg. The only issue with it is its battery, that lasts around 4 hours... Otherwise, it's a quite good piece of kit, Oh, btw, I got it for around €280 (~£250), plus stylus.
What's the build like on these? I've always thought Acer were pretty cheaply made. And how long does the battery last? Cheers

My link in an earlier post in this thread takes takes you to a very detailed review - battery life is generally quite good.

I use my own estimate rather than the official figures or the limited scenarios used for testing - these say between 7 -8 hours for constant browsing or playing videos with wifi on - which for me equates to 4 and a half to 5 hours general use. These aren't designed for games but if you play games on them expect between 1 and a half to 2 hours. Switching off wifi and turning the brightness down will make the battery last longer.

Its a home user laptop, so build quality is not great. The reviews suggest it is robust and the hinges sturdy.

The alternative is a used laptop like the Lenovo T450 which is just as capable as this but far better build, elsewhere on this site for around £270.

Is the processor any good on the teclast? Only just discovered after reading your comment, I'm in the market for a cheap laptop my self. Will the processor be good for gaming at all, by gaming I mean games that aren't graphic intensive like cs:go, cities skyline, Sims etc.

30 day returns on Tesco Ebay outlet so buy now and hedge your bets. I have done just that
I ordered this on the Monday. It arrived on the Wednesday.

Its a fantastic little laptop. the fan has a low humming sound and initially it was on most of the time. Battery life initially reported 7 hours whilst I was installing lots of essential software and running the AV.

by throttled the CPU to 48% so that the fan hardly comes on and changing some power and screen settings to battery saver mode it was reporting 13 hours battery time when I finished the software installs and was just browsing.

The screen is good - bright, clear and with good colours certainly much better than the HP and Dell inspiron I purchased.
The laptop is a little heavier than it looks but still light enough at less than 1.7kg and only has a small power plug. Its a sturdy laptop but being plastic a drop wont do it much good.

The reviews said sound was weak but it was loud enough and has two speakers so has good output. Its not hifi but is good for a laptop.

It is a very good buy at £350. I'm sure the person I bought it for will be pleased with it
