Great specs for the price. The processor and eMMC.are rather slow but they should be great for office work. The 128GB eMMC version is also available for £319.99 at argos.co.uk/pro…6 .Lowest price ever so far and £10 cheaper than last time.

Here's a review of a very similar version with SSD and possibly a slightly faster CPU: trustedreviews.com/rev…t-1
And a review of the 64GB model: pcmag.com/rev…t-1

I've listed the specs according to Argos below. I've done a bit of research and it seems the 13" FHD model comes with a Pentium N4200 or N3450. It doesn't make much difference, though.

  • 1.6GHz processor speed.

  • 64GB.
  • Microsoft Windows 10.
Display features:

  • High definition display.
  • Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Graphics:

  • Intel HD Graphics505 graphics card.
  • Shared graphics card.
Interfaces and connectivity:

  • SD media card reader.
  • Secure Digital (SD), .
  • 1 USB 2.0 port.
  • 2 USB 3.0 ports.
  • 1 USB 3.1 port.
  • 1 USB Type-C port.
  • 1 HDMI port.
  • Bluetooth.

It's actually Full HD and I prefer 13" for portability.

How on earth does the screen size not being suited to your needs make this a bad deal?
You’re doing Demba Ba’s name a real injustice here.

No, this is exactly the same model and has a fingerprint reader as well. Just click through the old deal and you'll get to the same Argos page. I think this is a great laptop if you are looking for portability, nice screen and style, but can live with slow(ish?) CPU and storage performance.

Here's another review I found: pcmag.com/rev…t-1 .

I like my screen to be big and love more memory and need HD and that’s not the only reason I gave you 3 ok thanks BA BABA BA

Would be a great chrome os machine as well! For anyone looking at the cheap Linx tablets or windows tablets this is much better in my opinion.

Ahhh I see. Will hold off until later on today. Definately getting something today though and will more than likely be from Argos! Thanks

Maybe. If so installing it may void your warranty. That's why I bought the 128GB model.

It seems that the Acer Swift 1 eMMC model has the m.2 SATA connector, but it's unclear whether it is enabled on this model:

There's also a post on the Acer forum that it may take an M.2 2280 SATA SSD, but it hasn't been confirmed: community.acer.com/en/…200

i've reserved the 128gb one - first i like the overall specs - and second i can buy now pay 6 months later using Argos card - useful at this time of year - but am going to leave it unopened in case something better comes along on Black Friday.

My first impressions:

Pros: It's got the better Intel Pentium N4200 CPU (as I thought), it only gets warm under load and seems to sustain a high frequency (2.4GHz running updates for minutes). There is no fan and it is entirely silent. Build quality seems great, the whole laptop looks and feels premium. It's more heavy than I expected, though. The keyboard is nicely usable despite its keys low travel. It does have a fingerprint reader

Cons: The screen's maximum brightness is low and it is somewhat unevenly lit on the lowest setting. This is also somewhat visible on higher settings. Acer preinstalled lots of software (I'll need to uninstall it still). There was about 40GB used already.

Overall I'm very happy with it so far.
