7th gen i5 at this price point seems a bit much. Nice laptop otherwise but not a great deal IMHO.
This laptop is not on offer, it's £649.

Google
I bought a Lenovo 710s a few months ago but it switches itself off every time i move it around. Amazon has offered me a refund and I am looking for a new laptop.

Can the build quality and size of this Acer laptop compete with a Lenovo 710s?

Thanks

8th gen are quad core compared to 7th gen being dual core. The performance increase is dramatic (about 50%). There are some HP 8th gen laptops in pcworld on offer at the moment which are good value for money. I would not get 7th gen cpu for laptops unless insanely cheaper which this isnt.

An incorrect assertion. 7th gen HQ are quad core and very good performers indeed.

I was trying to keep it simple. Yeah HQ are quad core but in general most consumer laptops apart from gaming laptops (which I dont think this user was asking about) are dual cores. You are not going to find a HQ processor laptop at this price

Downside of that is a very slow hard drive which means in general use it will probably feel more sluggish despite it having better specs
If this is the spec you want then this is far better here
