I thought this looked a decent deal as it also comes with a 3 year warranty and a £25 Love2Shop voucher. So if you subtract the warranty and voucher savings then it's coming out at £524.99. Or putting it a better way £574.97 for a Swift 3 including a 3 year warranty. It will be of interest to me what people think and alternatives to this laptop in the price range.

Or £50 less if you're ok with i5 8th gen instead of i7. Voted hot, but I think I will wait for Swift 5 15.6, as it is lighter and was about this price before.
Sorry I amended the voucher, it's £25,I was looking at the Swift 5 deal.

Thanks for the input, I was looking at the swift 5 on this site, and indeed it's much lighter at less than 1kg but at present it's priced at £749.97 with a 3 year warranty and a £50 voucher. box.co.uk/Ace…tml
It does come with a touch screen?

Yes, it is touch screen, I do not know if all the models, but certainly the one I've looked has touch screen. Was posted before here for about £550-600, don't remember exactly. Strangely enough, was less popular than other deals.
I really like S5, but not at £750. I like it as it is incredibly light, the downside is it may look cheap and flimsy. This is one of the reasons I do not want to pay this price. My Acer S13 is only 1.3 kg and 3 years old, but I really had to look after it, as it is really flimsy. The other thing I am not sure about Acer is the touchpad. Mine after 2 years started to be temperamental and drives me insane, this is why I think of changing the laptop. Also, some reviews of S5 suggest screen vibrating when typing, as it is so light.
I'm still trying to make up my mind, but I certainly do not want anything heavier than 1.3kg.
Touch screens are battery drainers if battery duration is important.

Thanks, I have been tasked to find a laptop for my daughter for Christmas. Her requirements were light, powerful (ish, no gaming) premium and good looking! Your reply helps a lot.

You will not find anything lighter, and with regards to powerful, I think i5 is more than acceptable and also cheaper. I'm still on i3 and every single person who used my laptop was impressed. SSD is probably a must. With regards to premium looking, I think you should look on YouTube, some suggested the S5 looks a bit cheap, as it was meant to be light. I think your deal is good, but given the fact Black Friday is not far away, and given the fact the S5 was under £600 before (now £750 at box but they had it for £700) if you think at S5, it will come cheaper. Also, despite the fact it is 15.6, the laptop is the same size as my 13 inch, as the bezels are much thinner than mine. The S3 is light, at 1.5kg, but still 600 grams heavier than S5, for some, this may be too light.

I'm after something similar but that is charged via USB-C. Not always easy to find out the charging method online

Swift 5 hits all those requirements. Weighs around 1kg and is very good performance wise. Few aesthetic hiccups such as the trackpad isn't great and mentions of vibrations when typing but thats to do with it being magnesium alloy. Brought i5 model a month ago when the Currys deal was on and it has been a very good buy so far.
Thanks, I was of the same opinion. My only reservation is quality and style but other than that it seems to tick most of the boxes.
I was wondering what you guys think of the Zenbook Vs aspire 5

ao.com/pro…spx
The Zenbook in my opinion is without doubt a beautiful laptop and is on my list. I looked at the 14 UM431DA which is the AMD alternative and was £650 in Curry's a couple of days ago (now £699) The reason I didn't buy it was Curry's. I am also looking at the YOGA S730 13 - Platinum which is available for £630, however the Yoga does not have a backlit keyboard which is on my list. I still like the spec of the swift 3 but it maybe too heavy and the swift 5 too expensive. I haven't looked at the aspire 5 as for me it will be too heavy and doesn't have that premium look. But it does look a very capable laptop.

Haha. Sounds like we are in the same boat on choice. Why the AMD one? You can get the AO one from their eBay store with 5% off so about £665.

It just comes down to price, as it has similar performance, £665 is decent especially as it's not Curry's. I am no expert, this is just a Christmas present for my daughter but I am under enormous pressure to get this right
I am slowly narrowing the field but aesthetic and weight plays a large part and black friday looming just adds to the hesitation.
The HP Envy 13 is another on my shortlist but that's coming in at £799 which is over my desired price point.
