Already pulled the trigger on this one (via gift cards bought with real money so no going back for me), thought it was a good deal.

10th gen i5, good SSD, light, touchscreen, fingerprint reader and a deal breaker for me, USB charging.

I got 8% off on gift cards and have an old laptop lying around so an extra £50 guaranteed off bringing my total to under £600 but even so, thought the £699 price was reasonable

Looks decent to me. The weight of it alone makes it worth a look.
Got this too. Thing of beauty. Super quiet, premium metal case, great screen and weighs less than a kilo. £699 is great value.
Heads up guys same laptop (far as I can tell) for £100 cheaper at Box, been chewing over buying it for a while:

Haven't quite taken the plunge yet as a little nervous about build quality on such a light and inexpensive machine, sounds positive what people are saying though.

This is the previous generation, 8th gen processor. I think they also made some minor changes that made it a more complete laptop (Wifi 6 card, I think bigger battery)

Cool, thanks - reckon it's worth the extra £100?

Personally, yes. But I love my tech and love having the latest and greatest. The article JM3 mentions that there are some overall improvements that may not be very tangible but in my opinion, worth the extra £100 for a machine you will likely have for years

Having said that, the fact this deal has gone cold but the previous gen for £599 was 200 degrees, maybe others don't agree. Or they didn't see that this is the newer model. As I mentioned, I think this is worth the £100 over the other deal which is why I posted it

Yeah I reckon I've been convinced it's worth it, the ice-blue score is a bit off-putting but starting to learn not to set too much store by that anyway...
Tempted but the soldered RAM is putting me off, I'd want to chuck 16gb in it. A real shame.

Annoyingly, the listing on Currys says it is upgradeable which to me made it perfect. However, as you point out as well as countless review sites, it isn't. Still decided to go ahead anyway, I don't intend on running anything overly intensive so I don't think this will really affect me
