In the market for a 24" monitor right now, this looks mildly tempting but this Asus is catching my eye more, also has HDMI and (admittedly probably not great) speakers; play.com/PC/…tml

Acer Have just ecipsed Dell for sales (desktops or laptops or something), not that I rate Dell very highly.

If it has DVI, how can it not be HDCP?
Maybe just an error in the specs?

If not, AnyDVD HD is your friend

care with this .... the resolution of a lot of the new cheap 24 inch panels is 1920 x 1080 .. great for HD movies but if youre using it for general PC stuff/games you (like me) might find the height really restricting (like less vertical space than the 19 inch monitor i was replacing) ... i tried a dell 1920x1080 and couldnt live with the vertical size so went for a samsung 1920 x 1200 (even has a HDMI input) and the extra vertical real estate makes a big difference doing "pc stuff" .. when viewing hd content i just get a narrow black letterbox top and bottom which is no issue at all

the only other thing to say is bar the top of the range Dell (and one of the 22 inchers i think) and HP (IPS Panels) most of the 24 inch monitors use a cheaper panel (TN film panels) which gives you very limited viewing angles and not great colour rendition (incl blacks) ... some are worse than others but if youre using this as a tv/movie screen this might be an issue .. the more expensive dell and hp are absolutely stunning monitors with no tangible colour/viewing angle issues but 2-3 times the cost of the cheap 24 inch 1080 panels .. but if you can run to the dell or HP IPS panels take a look at it against a TN film panel monitor its a huge difference

.. i couldnt justify it so went for a samsung T240 1920 x 1200 which (apart from not having a vertical height adjustment) is just perfect ... just wish i could raise it a few inches (so i will end up putting a wooden block under it)

That's an error in the spec sheet - this monitor does support HDCP (as mentioned on the "Product Info" page and confirmed by Scan).

the benq is a good alternative except its out of stock, acer owns benq so you technically get a monitor from the same company. The advantages the Benq has is HDMI, headphone socket and good reviews.

I have been using this for a few months now and its a top piece of kit

Didn't know that about Acer owning Benq.

I guess the 3 year guarantee though makes this abetter deal for a couple of quid extra

Anyone got thiers yet and if so would you recommend it.Im seriously considering this monitor but im not 100% sure what type of dvi connection I need for it.I want to use it with my pc which has a ati sapphire 4670 graphics card so will this cable do the job?
