Worth mentioning the free screen with this

I got the Optoma UHD 300x for £699 in November, but this looks slightly better. Can't seem to play video off a USB stick on the Optoma. Great deal!

Please could you tell me what did you pair the projector up with, I am curious how to create a basic system?

I have an Xbox One S which can output 4K, and a Sonos soundbar with 2 Play:1s linked. As far as I could tell, these are some of the best value projectors that support S/PDIF audio connections that Sonos uses, so that influenced my decision. Then I just got some 7.5m HDMI 2.0 cables from Amazon to connect them all up. Hope that helps!
Looks a bargain to me

Looks like a great bit of kit for a fantastic price. Seems well reviewed across many sites, and that is at over twice the price of this offer.

For those wondering, this will project a 100 inch screen from roughly 9 feet away.

If you have the room, and were looking for a solid 4K projector at a budget price, I'd be amazed if anyone could find a better deal than this right now.

Thanks
Maybe those posting deals for Chinese projectors, 5000 lumens for £100 should have a look at this. Only 2400 lumens, which is enough, clearly realistic specs, so they should realise the Chinese projectors have probably 10% of what they claim. It is not only about brightness, but can you trust a seller/manufacturer who claims such specs. And if it is that easy and cheap, why the proper brands do not produce such bright projectors?

I think the ViewSonic PX747-4K at Amazon is a better deal. Have used 2 at work and 3500 lumens means it’s useable in daylight. Gets best reviews of all the branded cheap 4K projectors and at £727 punches well above its price band
This or This
What a bargain purchased, usually Optoma buyer but at this price!
No keystone correction (I know it affects image quality) weirdly on this so unless you can get it situated in a perfect position the image will have bad geometry

Ordered Thanks
2400 brightness will be okay for dark rooms but not day light
I was going to wait until the summer to get my first projector and was going to be happy enough to get a 1080P OPTOMA HD144X but have just pulled the trigger on this as it seems to good to be true, can only see one review online "7reviews" which gave it 8/10 but not exactly a glowing review but this was based on its rrp of 1500
I see ebuyer has dropped the price on this as well to 850 so may be down to poor sales or the fact there is issues with it but everywhere else seems to be selling at rrp currently
Scan are selling the same unit via ebay for £1608.06

Misprice possible then

Not exactly a positive thing on a Saturday night, could well be cancelled by Monday
39916645-S9KHK.jpgMost likely not a misprice and looking like it was not a popular choice amongst the price range competition but I would say at this price it is a bargain
Does it support 3D?
Supports 3D at 1080p max, this is due to no current 3D support on 4K. from what I have read there is not many 4K projectors that have 3D so it's a nice feature to have
Is the rainbow effect any less on 4K projectors vs 1080p? Asking as some family members have been prone when I've tested a few 1080p DLP's in the past.
Wifi icon seems to stay on screen according to reviews, seems odd, bound to be able to switch it off

Where did you see that? Couldn't find any reference from user reviews on Amazon.

Amazon uk, I hope its user error, glad i installed a cat5

My initial complaint was the inability to remove the wifi symbol from the bottom of the display. This shows all the time, no matter whether you’re in the projector’s home menu, or watching movies on Netflix. I have just disconnected it.
just purchased fingers crossed that it will be good. projectors dont have an RTings website equivlent so im kinda going in blind. plus no clear naming scheme compared to TVs, and clear technology being way better than other for example a FALD vs edge. i know laser projectors exist but they're too £££. anyways this will be my first ever projector not to mention my first time to experience 3d. im hoping it doesnt dissapoint.

Dont expect tv quality, a dark room & the huge screen makes up for it. I have been looking for a 4k bargain & this is it at last
Just ordered one. Gonna have to ceiling mount it though which is a little bit daunting as I have been using an Optoma GT1080e on a coffee table
Box now have this for 799 so not the bargain we were maybe thinking, there must be issues with this for the price to drop so much without previous reduction but I would say still a good buy at this price

Damn, well I had a Thursday delivery date on Saturday for NI so I probably have a slim chance if it's a misprice
Just checked the order update, my order is still not picked at 12:21 on Monday. Cancellation email incoming
Anyone called to find out the crack? I've been holding off on this as seemed to good to be true.

I had delivery for tomorrow Tuesday, just called them about my order & no update, guy did say Scan are trying to source stock directly from Acer ... doesn’t sound promising !!!
looks like I will go back to my 1080p first projector plan at half the price unless something else pops up but cannot see it at this price.
Probably better to go for a good 1080 projector than a bottom of the line 4k for a year or so and see what use I get out of the cinema room before determining if I should invest in something decent

I'm in the same boat, which one you looking at? Only one I seem to fancy is the Optoma HD143X

Funny I had in mind the HD144 which is very similar I think. You can get a manufacturer refurb on Ebay for 330 direct from Optoma.. only slight worry is that it's delivered from Holland
