Got the i3 version about a month ago for a much lower price. Very sturdy and I like the feeling of the material they have used. Some people may not like it however and may prefer something metallic at this price range.

If you proceed with a purchase remember to claim the free accessories pack from Acer (uk-offers.acer.com/ver…23/)

    £439 for a Chromebook.
Why wouldn’t you just buy a Windows laptop at this point?

I love this Chromebook, really dig the materials they use on the windows or CB vero range.

But... this is the non-touch version with a recessed screen which to me is kind of dated, and so even with money off I couldn't rec it.

Most people would be better off with the Acer Spin 513 (mediatek version) which is in the same ballpark price, and is the wirecutters current top pick.

Most would likely be better off with a used Chromebook where you can get the high-end ones for not a lot of money these days. An example would be the C434 posted at £140ish last night or the ASUS CX9400 that cost about £1k new but can be had for £300 now. They don’t seem to hold value well.

The Vero lineup are recycled materials and do have a nice, albeit chunky look.
