My old Optima game time is still working, just, but this looks like a good priced upgrade...

Does any one have one?

the good thing about the optoma game time projectors is the short throw of the lens

I expect that you would find that most DLP projectors whether, Optoma, Acer or BenQ all use the same DMD chip and if you have inadequate cooling you will get a chip failure with some of the mirrors sticking open or closed giving you white or black pixels.

That Acer does look like a good price though

I'd love this but I think it would be too hard to me to set up a screen in my flat

I had the same thought but I found a way to make it work. I didn't want to hang the screen from the ceiling and because my TV was on the wall the screen wouldn't open. So I used 2x shelf brackets and wood to be hanging on the wall but away from it so now I open the screen and it covers my TV but I had to mount my Epson to the ceiling as it was easier for me.

I ordered a 92" screen and a 84" from Very for size comparison and becuase of a Yodel error they lost the 92" (haha 92" box missing) and i got the 84" for free. My flat is small and i think the 84" screen it's just the right size.

No screen in my flat, just a flat white wall. Rented place and modern so no easy way to ceiling mount the projector or a screen so it's the wall and a bedside cabinet for a projector stand.

But then my living room is ~4m across the short dimension so a projector is required, most TVs look tiny, even my previous 50" plasma :P

How can you upload a pic?

Keen to get a projector to replace my 42" TV after moving into a much bigger house and lounge. Welcome any recommendations.

I am also looking for one, and the budget market is between benq1070 or optoma 141x, but this week optoma 142 is on the market and I believe longer life on bulb and brighter than 141, anyway, seems like new models are coming. If you are planing to buy now, I would say 141 is only better than 1070 in daylight, because it is brighter, that is why benq1070 is better in darkness with vivid colours. So If you are like me who wants it for only movies at night, go with 1070, or if you wanna use it also in lighter rooms for daily use, optoma 141 is better. Of course this is my idea. I wish I could find both in display demo somewhere, damn it is difficult to find shop with projectors on display, not even richer sounds in my town doing it.
