Original Poster

i was tempted when i seen the price, but didnt check the back for inputs

No DVI according to technical details on Amazon :-(

Nice 1.

You really don't need DVI. Im using VGA on my Samsung 23" which is 2048x1152 and its pixel perfect!

unfort, with blu ray you do need hdmi or dvi+hdcp

Pity it has no DVI as not a bad price for that spec.

Not too keen on Acer for monitors myself but at that price for that size definitely Hot.

Good price

Did any one get the £50 voucher for buying the TV from Tesco last month, got pretty hot here?

is this in-store only? cant seem to find it on the site?

This is slightly misleading with the full BD support, seeing as that requires HDCP, which is only possible via HDMI/DVI

Needed it on mine :-)

The noise I pick up from the laptop PSU drove me mad ;-)

And as others have said it's needed for HDCP, buying a monitor with only VGA is false economy these days.

Is the 5ms response time any good?

its alright suppose

What is false ecomony is these companies ripping us of for a technology that is cheaper to make, just becuase the quality is better, why does the consumer always get stitched up?

Actually I believe there is a higher rate of tax on monitors with digital inputs. They maybe fall into a different classification (EU thing). Likewise compact cameras which can record videos over a certain length are camcorders and so fall into a higher tax bracket. It's not the companies.

for a cheap and cheerful monitor the price is good if you want/need a higher spec you have to pay more

Shame this hasn't got DVI - I bought the x222w (22" with VGA and DVI) and it's superb!

If you use Slysoft's AnyDVD HD you bypass the need to use HDCP with BD. Erm, just a shame the software itself is a fair chunk of cash!

Looked just what i needed, but none of my local stores stocked it

damn
i paid 180 for this a couple of months ago

Got one from Nottingham - "Top Valley" last night.... they still have stock (ask at the "electrical desk")

VERY impressed with it,yes its VGA ONLY - but the text on screen is super crisp.... Tested with "PCcheck" and ZERO dead or stuck pixels

Very nice upgrade ;-)

I've got the X233H which does have DVI. It's a superb screen for the money, it really is - nice colours, great for games and movies, totally crisp picture. The only problem is the stand is totally fixed height / angle. To get mine to normal height / viewing angle, mine sits on a pile of old Top Gear magazines and then I've got some folded card underneath the feet to adjust the angle so it's viewable.

If you're going to buy one, please be mindful of this!

I can't find it on Tesco website, anyone got a link? many thx!!

does that model have the "glossy" screen ?

its been discontinued from the website

Great Deal

fyi: I had one of these monitors - great image quality, but the monitor made a lot of noise (which could be solved with a workaround).

Anyway - it went pop after about 3 months use & I only recently got round to sending it off for repair.
Acer were really good - they collected it & then about a week later decided they wouldn't repair it - instead they sent me a better monitor 24inch full HD with VGA & DVI. I'm happy !
