After a lot of research looking for a 1440p 144Hz IPS Freesync Monitor, I decided on this one as it has a wider effective freesync range than the other one out at the moment. This one is only just starting to appear in the UK, so I can't compare the price with much, but I had expected it to launch around £450.

It's not in stock but is 'available on request'. I called to clarify and they will order it from a partner who does have it, and it should take about 10 days. They take payment on delivery so if a better price crops up you could cancel.

If you're looking for this kind of monitor and are happy to wait I think it's a great price.

What was the freesync range for this one and what model was the 'other one' you mentioned?

Other monitor is the Asus MG279Q, I think it goes up to 90hz. I've read different things on this one, that it starts at 24hz one place and 40hz from Internet chatter, but it certainly seems it runs up to the full 144hz.

If you find confirmation anywhere please post it here!
Hot. I might return my XL2730Z and get this.

I actually bought this exact monitor for £443 last night from Alza (no, never heard of them either!) so it was quite a nice surprise to see it for £70 less this morning...

How much did you pay for it mate? The cheapest coming up on pcpartpicker for the XL2730Z is £442. So this is both cheaper and an IPS.... can't recommend unreservedly as haven't read reviews, but this one looks like better choice at £373!

Decent price tbf. I'd take the IPS personally but again, haven't found any reviews, only previews... I'm having a look now so will post if I find one
will be the same panel as the XB270, so same lucky dip. With Acers pixel guarantee I'd only get this from Amazon.

To be fair actually if it comes up at a similar price I could cancel this one and go Amazon I guess...
Don't forget to go through topcashback/quidco, which ever is your preferred choice..
Any use for gaming?

If you've got a PC capable of running the games you want to play at 1440p, with an AMD graphics card, yes. If not, no, you can find a better option.

If you've got a NVIDIA card, which monitor costing the same as this, would you recommend?

I couldn't mate, I've mainly been looking at Freesync monitors as I've just bought an R390. I would say though that you'll have to make compromises to get a comparable G-Sync monitor, they seem to be about £100 more from what I've seen. You could get a monitor that offers the same stuff, but it will cost more.

G-Sync does have advantages though; I understand that you don't have to worry about an effective range as much? It's got a solution if it drops below 30fps, not sure on the specifics.

What you could do is go on pcpartpicker.co.uk, search for monitors, and edit the filter to only show the things that you're looking for. It has pretty good price histories for each part too, so you can see if you're getting a good deal.
Thanks for your reply Joe. A couple of months ago, I snapped up a great deal on a acer 27" freesync monitor. On my NVIDIA card, I'm enjoying 1440p gaming, minus freesync, so I've been looking for a good deal on a AMD card. I wish to take advantage of the freesync. Currently waiting for the R9 290x to come back into stock for £202.00.
When you have the more powerful GPU's, the framerates rarely drop below 30fps on most of the newer top end games, just keep AA switched off. Missed out on that damn R9 390 deal on scan over black friday weekend.
If I was in the market for a good 27" freesync ips monitor, I would definitely give this one a go.

Yeah I managed to grab one of the 390 Nitro's the other day, building the PC tomorrow. Though I've just spent way more than I can afford on a 1440p freesync ultrawide monitor so I don't think the 390 will even be enough! Hopefully freesync Van pick up the slack, and I don't mind turning down a setting or two. I'm thinking that in a couple of years I can get a new GPU and the monitor will still be good so it's a worthwhile investment.

Worth keeping an eye out, but you might be best off waiting till after Christmas now in case we see any really good discounts on the 390 or a Fury.
How is this so cheap, the RRP is £510 - overclockers.co.uk/det…977

I wonder will they honour this price? Also anyone know what Dabs return policy is like, these monitors are prone to backlight bleed so will likely have to return the 1st one.
So they now have these monitors back in stock.... However, the price is back up tp £528.... I really hope they honor the previous low price as I've ordered one. My order is still showing "Awaiting stock from supplier"

Good luck mate, hope you get it. They assured me when I rang that the price would remain as it was advertised. I didn't get one in the end, cancelled it as I made the highly questionable decision to fork out for the 34" ultrawide monitor that ebuyer has a while ago.... Was a tough call between this one though.

Anyway as I say I rang them to confirm that we'd definitely get it at that price so I'd try to stand firm if they try to talk you into cancelling (ebuyer did that to me when I had bought an i7-6700K through them). Let me know if it comes through!

Thanks for the reply. I'll be sure to keep you updated bud.

They monitor is back to "Out of Stock", still the £528 price tag though... (I had found this for £10 cheaper (£362) but from a supplier that HUKD wouldn't let me post (officemagic . co . uk)) so i assumed they are dogey and avoided ordering from them.

My order still says "Stock from supplier due Friday 18th Dec"

Yeah I was about to order yesterday, then the price went up and I thought I missed it.
Then luckily this morning it went back down to £370, so I quickly ordered 2 of them.

Hope they honour the price!

Looks like a good buy its great all round. Some might complain about it being 4ms but its an IPS screen so your not going to get it any lower without losing the fact that it is IPS.
Supposedly the FreeSync range is 40-144Hz
I don't see any other monitors with this specification, at this price.
Just checked my order: "More stock due Wednesday 2nd March"
still not received mine, not updated on delivery date from the supplier either.
Now showing as £536.06 with 37 in stock. My order at £370 is showing no stock available until march still. Lol wut?!

Might need to make a call...
So I just called them and they switched my order which should be delivered on next day delivery so should get it Monday or Tuesday.
Yea the price has gone back up but my order is still waiting for 372... waiting on stock due on the 2nd or march??? Not sure to cancel it or wait at that price?

Call them and let them know they are currently showing as in stock online. They will change your order type and you should get it delivered the next working day. Mine is due for delivery on Monday or Tuesday
Just to let you guys know. I've received my despatch confirmation. So they are definatly sending them out now. Just need to call them and let them know you want supplier to ship directly to you and then they will ship it the very same day!!!!!
Mine arrived today. Very happy with it!
Price is back to £370... none in stock

I spoke them several times, they kept telling me to wait till 2nd march, i then insisted that there is a mistake and they need to sort it out, the girl spoke to supervisor and had it sent out, should receive on monday/tuesday.. if you have paid with paypal they will need to cancel the payment and do it through a card to get it swapped over.

There helpful and friendly enough, i dont know if they where trying to long me off before or they just didnt understand the stock thing.
Original Poster
They took their time getting these out then! Great to hear they're coming through though.
Ordered a few days ago and have just rang them. I explained that the 2nd of March would be too long and that I wanted to order directly from the supplier like other users have mentioned. All sorted now and should be receiving within a few days!
Any update from anyone? Mine still on order. Every time I've called them they say out of stock due early March.

You need to tell them you want it shipped directly from the supplier, they may make you change your payment method to a credit card, but they will ship it much much faster that way. If they refuse, you should insist on speaking to a manager / supervisor and let them know you have friends that have had this service.
Woo. Mine out for delivery as of today. Didn't call them again as every time I had prior, I got palmed off. Hope it lives up to the hype, still going gor £500+ elsewhere. Just goes to show patience can pay off.
