Now thats a deal!

Sounds great, was just looking round for a new player too

I just nipped out to get one, for me mam who wanted a cheapo player for her old mini. Pleasantly suprised by the look and feel, for a budget device the buttons and knob feel as solid as a Pioneer and it has two pre-outs plus the ISO mating half included so I can upgrade her to ISO. Heat added.

good price voted hot.

i have a acoustic solutions portable dvd player myself and its been excellent for a budget machine so this could well be the same:thumbsup:

can i plug my ipod into this?

Nice, just reserved mine!
Heat added

Hot.

My sister, bless her, bought me a Sendai CD player from Halford's last Christmas which is absolutely awful. It skips and jumps at the slightest dink in the road.

CD/MP3/USB slot for £25.... bargain. I just wish I had the money to grab this now.

Pioneer units are rubbish though

That's a very sweeping statement, although I had one and unfortunately can't disagree.

Does this actually have a CD-slot-bit in it?

Reserved one thanks OP

It says it is a CD player. It says it has a detachable facia so I would assume the cd slot is behind this like I have seen on some others.

Sorry for the nooby question - my car (2001 Proton Wira 1.5 LXi) has a Tape Player atm, would this fit?

Jakg - if it a standard DIN-E connector it should do if it is not an integrated radio - not being nasty i wouldl susupect as the proton is a basic car it should fit, benefit of Argos is if it don't fit you can take it back

Does this unit supports ID3 tags?Doesnt look like it from the picture but heres hoping. :-D

It comes with a tape player, of course it's a basic car!

Thanks for your help...

*adds to Christmas list*

How exactly do I plug my MP3 player (with 3.5mm jack) into this? ATM i use a Casette -> 3.5mm Jack thingy...

Looking at the picture it has a USB socket, maybe thats how you connect the MP3??

I think the point is that it has onboard usb playback. Thus drop the tracks onto an SD card or USB stick and it will play them. I suppose some USB players that don't do anything odd as files and act as drives might work too.

Yeah good point, you mean connect your ipod usb cable to the stereo's usb port??

Can anyone confirm this way of connecting your ipod works?

EDIT: Just read a review and the usb port only takes memory sticks upto 1gb which effectively rules out using ipods

does anyone know whether this CD/MP3 player will play MP3 burned onto a disc? or will it just play from SD card or memory stick, thanks

It says Mp3 playback so should play mp3 cd's no problem.

Thanks for this gonna buy it , just brought a £100 one but i managed to break it trying to fit it in  dont ask lol

I installed this unit yesterday its worth the money, but it does feel cheap a bit like a tevion (aldi) but not quite as good, the display is very bright and the characters are big so the song name etc. usually gets cut off, the sound is great, the fm tuner is weak. not much else to say apart from for £25 there is no better.

I've never found a stereo to match my old Pioneer one for qaulity.

I think it's a good price for a basic system, a 1GB, USB stick will hold a lot of music. No need for loads of discs rolling around the car.

Heated & repped,

Thanks , OP

Got mine reserved, been looking a while and this is defo best at any where near the price. Heat!

it shows the track names ok

Where is the SD card slot.
There is only the USB socket visible on the fascia.

The SD card slot is behind the fascia, The front drops down.

Thanks OP Heat Added, Bought and installed 1 for my Missus yesterday.Doesnt sound too bad either .

Is there any way you can actually connect a MP3 Player to this machine?

spot the guy who buys 25 quid headunits, even the worst pioneer headunit would massacre this thing.

Reading the instruction manual, it suggests that SOME MP3 players will connect through the USB - it's no more specific than that.

Bo***cks, I just bought this for about 40 quid. Great stereo, great deal voted hot.

my ipod plugs straight in to USB, works straight off. Sound quality is good also.

Also does play MP3 cd's

Just reserved one of these for my Ford Ka...

Anyone know if I will need the ISO adapter for it?

FWIW just found out my car is Double-DIN so this isn't really a good idea...

Yes, you'll need an ISO adapter. Well at lkeast I did when I put it in a 52 plate Ka.

just installed one of these in a passat until i can afford a blaupunkt nashville but it won't save the radio stations in the presets. The old gamma worked fine with the presets and all I done was take that out and plug this in but don't understand when I take the key out and put it back in all the presets have gone.

Any help.

I had this in a Fiat Punto ,albeit with a different head unit.
I would predict that the reason it's not remembering the pre-sets is that the ignition live & permanent live wires in your car are the "wrong" way round.
Not wrong, because that's obviously how VW decided to wire it,but wrong as in not industry standard for aftermarket head units.

A head unit the same as I put in the Fiat,(after swapping the wires around), I also fitted to a Rover, without needing to do anything but unplug the old one & plug in the new one.
Maybe it's a foreign car issue.
