Gets great reviews all over the web!

Designed by doctors it is a much safer alternative to the syringes many people use at home. Unlike the rubber bulb type that can damage the ear if pushed in too deep, its flared tip prevents over-insertion.

Unlike other syringes that squirt a straight jet of water which can damage the delicate eardrum, the Acu-Life Tri-Stream Tip safely directs the flow outwards onto the ear canal walls.

Just use 3 drops of olive oil twice a day. No need for this.

pardon?

If you read the various reviews around the web, many people found this cleared blockages that ear drops/olive oil couldn't budge. This is far more effective.

Oil drops are best for dry ears canals - but this Ear Wax Removal is for blocked canals only (it will not cure your dry canals !!!).

Would this be quicker?

These things don't work. Waste of money. I have one sitting on a shelf - deaf-initely useless.

I'm a Health Care Professional (although some might argue about the professional bit) and a good few years ago used to syringe (irrigate) ears daily (actually more fun than it sounds!).

Ear "syringing" is now only really used as a last resort when gentler methods have failed (drops / olive oil & the like).

The reason for this is that the risk of causing damage to the delicate bits and bobs in your lugs is just too high.

I used to use a machine / pump which was specifically designed for the job & the pressure could be finely tuned to minimise risk of damage - you cant do that with a "syringe".

Would I use one of these in my or my familys ears........ No chance.

My advice is stick to the gentle methods (they dont work overnight so give them a good chance). If you do need to move to irrigation - get it done by someone who knows what they are doing.

I had an ear blockage a few months ago... Tried everything even this silly thing posted, i must of spent about 30 quid on all of the items/remedies.... In the end i went to the doctors who said use olive oil 3 times a day (nurse said use as many times as you like) ... in the end a 3 quid bottle of olive oil with a pipette sorted it out in 1 week... and now I can hear people!!!

Just using one nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Absolutely !!

Best way to use Olive Oil is to:

- Warm it gently to body temperature'ish - You really dont want to fry your ears.

- Lie on your side and drop or get someone to drop a few drops into your ear - if too much gets sploshed in dont worry - its just olive oil.

- Stay on your side for as long as possible - the longer the better - watch a telly programme if possible - at the very least stay like that for 2 or 3 minutes. The longer the olive oil is in contact with the wax (technically know by the Latin name "Tatties") the more effective it is.

- Repeat this a few times a day.

- When in the shower tilt your head and allow water into your ear canal - once full tilt and pour it out. Do this a few times - the water will also help to shift things alone (if you have a super duper power shower try to avoid blasting one eardrum through to the other side of your head).

Occasionaly when the wax softens if can actually shift and cover / press up against your eardrum making your hearing really / completely muffled. This usually isnt anything to worry about and is just a sign that your winning the battle.

What most people do is put the drops or oil into their ears followed immediately by a wadge of cotton wool - the cotton wool then does what cotton wool does best and soaks up the majority of the oil / drops making the whole exercise less effective.

Good luck! or should I say "GOOD LUCK" :-)

No need to shout. I'm not.....oh, I see....

I used to be amazed when getting my ears syringed as a kid you used to get a kidney bean sized lump of wax out of each lug. I regularly get blocked ears when doing lots of swimming on holiday (I assume what wax I have shifts in the ear?) I usually use "Otex", although the fizzing sensation of the peroxide dissolving the wax sometimes feels like a bug crawling around in your ear.
Definitely avoid the product posted - too much potential pressure for an unqualified person to be applying to their ears. Do the manufacturers also supply leech healing kits?
