Read elsewhere that rain water can be just as good if your using it for your car radiator. This I’m guessing is for batteries and deionised?

If you put water in a saucepan, then a bowl in the water, then put the lid on upside down, then put ice on top of the lid, then heat the pan, distilled water will collect in the bowl.

It's so worth it. It only takes about 3 hours to make 100ml of probably not very pure water.

Owww, but I really wanted to drink water that's £1.44 a litre

On a more serious note, I don't think distilled water will kill you. Just make you deficent over time.
Neutral in taste ...thats good enough for me

Can't you just boil the kettle and let it cool down to get the same thing, for a fraction of the price?

No - doing this would concentrate the minerals in the water, the opposite of what you want. Distilling removes them.

Distilling would mean you'd need to collect the condensed steam as the steam is mostly pure water, leaving the impurities behind. So no, just boiling it isn't enough.

I would say not. That said this seems incredibly expensive for distilled water.

Its not, we use this brand and for the size delivered its cheap. It is not only sterilizer use approved, but is great for steam irons, dehumidifies ((got one on now with some peppermint oil)) couple of the cars and in a hot water bottle to stop all the lime scale and crap build up!

No, here is a rather good resource on the benefits of not using boiled water for anything ((other than the energy saved!))

seems like a good price to prolong the life of a steam iron in a hard water area..

I give the water out of my unheated/detached garage dehumidifier to my neighbour who uses it for ironing she doesn't get much this time of year though as it is too cold for it to operate.
