The SX8200 Pro M.2 2280 SSD is XPG’s fastest SSD to date and is designed for avid PC enthusiasts, gamers, and overclockers. It features an ultra-fast PCIe Gen3x4 interface that offers sustained peak read/write speeds of 3500/3000MB per second, outpacing SATA 6Gb/s by a wide margin. Supporting NVMe 1.3, the SX8200 Pro delivers excellent random read/write performance and multi-tasking capabilities. With SLC caching, a DRAM Cache buffer, E2E Data Protection, and LDPC ECC, it maintains high speeds and data integrity, even during highly intensive applications such as gaming rendering, and overclocking.

I got a 512GB NVMe drive x4 for £45 on Amazon Prime Day. I'd wait until Black Friday.

I'm looking for 1Tb myself but I'll wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Maybe there will be some better deals.

Just wondring if there is much noticeable difference between this and a fast SATA SSD (I know thr I/O is a hell of a lot faster, but worndering how it is in the real world)?

Thanks Mark.

Depends on what you're using it for.

You probably won't notice the few seconds it saves over the course of a day when used as a boot drive, but if you're using it as a scratch drive for video editing et al, it'll be noticeably better.

12 months ago NVMe cost almost double SATA, now they're approaching equivalence; I'd go NVMe.
