Well that fills me full of confidence!!
I wish this was at least 2666MHz. I'll keep holding out!

I'm actually using Adata RAM right now, DDR3 2166MHz and they're great, I've never had an issue with them.

Just curious, why would you want it to be a higher speed?

Do you do a lot of professional work or something?

Which offers slightly worse performance in gaming than 2x8GB for those that don't know.

Dual channel Vs single Offers minimal difference in gaming. Dual channel configs will increase bandwidth in simulation and editing work over a single stick

FPS, RAM speed matters a lot in certain games, especially if you're using a 144Hz monitor which I do. For example if you play Battlefield 1, the difference in minimum FPS is massive between 2133MHz and 3200MHz (158fps vs 192ps). I feel like 2666MHz is the minimum you should go for on a new build.

digiworthy.com/201…ng/

"As is obvious from the results, the RAM speed impact is big in some games, while it’s negligible in others. In other words, Coffee Lake memory performance does vary from game to game.

Also, the impact may not be noticeable in some situations, for instance, in case of the GPU bottleneck. But, as soon as you play CPU intensive games, faster RAM becomes more important. Same is true for high refresh rate monitors which require more CPU power to push more frames per second."

techpowerup.com/rev…tml

"The minimum memory frequency we would recommend for a high-end Coffee Lake system is 2666 MHz. Everything below that seems to have relatively large performance effects. The cheapest DDR4 memory runs at roughly $8 per GB (2133 MHz, CL15). While cheap, that is not the way to go. Rather, get a 2666 MHz kit with CL15, or better CL14. These should be in the range of $9 per GB, which makes for an extra $15 (for 16 GB) that is well spent."

It's around 5fps in most games, it's not massive but it's something to note.

Looks like we have a krypton factor winner here 😗
Too slow...
2400mhz and CL6...dam thats slow, but heat for the price! cheapest by miles. and its buy this and the £100 toward the GPU than a 3000mhz RAM
Yeah 2666mhz seems sensible imo. Seems some games are taking advantage after all.

Quite a nice little bump in the Wildlands Bench for the most part.
