Use Ublock Origin on your browser extension, job done.

And how do you plan on installing that on iOS?
Not a patch on the free alternatives such as AdGuard or Adblock Plus. I wouldn't trust this shady company.

As long as Adguard exists, it tends to render other adblockers obsolete in my very humble opinion.
Does anyone use this? Is it any good?
Thanks Op. Worth a try for free!

Does this harvest any data or anything? Already running pihole on my network but wouldn’t be bad when out the house.

Interesting, how does it block ads in other apps and is that just the Pro version? TIA
Anyone know if this affects tracking of the likes of Topcashback and Quidco? I don't want to join the long line of moaners, complaining that their purchases didn't track!!

AdGuard Pro runs a vpn, thus filtering the connection rather than just the browser. Not sure about the free version, you’ll have to check that.
I currently use it on my iPhone and it works great blocking unwanted ads pop ups etc. Even has a whitelist option.

I don’t have it personally, just weighing up the options by looking at iTunes and googling to read the pros and cons. Looks like it uses a dns

The VPN-based ad blocking solutions are better because they block ads in any app, whereas this just blocks ads on websites in Safari. However, if you want to use an actual VPN to avoid being tracked by your ISP, conceal your location, or get around geographical restrictions, then you can't use a VPN-based ad blocker at the same time.

Try Lockdown Apps. The only onboard firewall for iOS I believe. It’s pretty good imo.

Yes, but you can temporarily disable it within Safari.
Does any one know how to get add blocker to work on a pc and block adds

The add blocker works fine but now on some sites like the daily mail it forces you to turn it off to view the site Any one know how to stop them doing this?

Thanks for your reply. That knocks it on the head for me. Topcashback have paid me about 3k in the last couple of years, and I don't want to upset their tracking in any way.

Your Adblock Plus link is a fake. The real one is by BetaFish.

Well firstly, you can - and should - use uBlock Origin in Chrome as that'll take care of most things.

Secondly, this guide from Adguard themselves will take you through switching to their DNS servers

adguard.com/en/…tml

Use it in conjunction with uBlock Origin and everything should be fine.

Yeah a lot of people just default to Adblock Plus because that's the one that "everyone" has, but uBlock Origin is far better - it's less resource heavy and also doesn't allow "acceptable ads" through like Adblock Plus (as well as others..).

Some of the hooky sites still manage to get around things by having pop-under tabs open which can be a pain but it's not that often thankfully.

Don't suppose you know one that could be used on the internet explorer? Same thing happens with adds on the dail mail site on it and they make you turn off the normal Adblock Plus for the site to work

Thank you added heat

Just turn it off, I have no issues with TopCashback and adblockers, you could also whitelist them.

Just install openvpn, then when out the house you enable vpn on your mobile back to your pi.. and voila, pihole does its job.. plus extra security if using wifi outside your home. That’s what I do on my Raspberry Pi.

Yeah wish I could! I run pihole which then goes onto nordvpn dns servers and nordvpn out! So openvpn cant get into my home internet as the ip address is different/masked by the outward vpn! I think it would need lots of work to make it run which is more than what Im capable of I think! Thanks though for the help though!
Paid adblockers basically go against the whole idea.
If it's not uBlock Origin, it can go and flup itself.
How long will this last?
