They send you a new card with your photo on it for Free, I don't think we need to go technical or confuse people
Since when have Barclays charged debit card users through their cards for anything other than their purchases? Even if they do, what would the shared cost of personalising cards be -- 1p a year?
You could say the same about basically every freebie on here.
Vast majority of freebie here are no obligation, no purchase, and/or available to everyone e.g. Kindle free books from Boz, free cinema tickets, Ideal Home exhibition, audio books, games from Origin, apps and games on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, trials, perfume sample, promotional items, free thermals from Uniqlo, free calls, charity donations.....you just review the recent pages of freebies and you see what I mean by vast majority.
Available to everyone means to everyone. Like an item on the shop shelf, it is an invitation treat, whether or not you can realise with your specific personal situation is beside the point of availability, it does not mean it is not available if you cannot get it. A classic example, a cinema in Stafford has 100 free seats available. It would be daft to say, "The seats are not available to anyone who cannot get there."
Amen to that! hahahaha.
Both Nationwide and Halifax have been doing same for a wee while now too though ..... lol.
Rubbish, any one may read Kindle books on any available PC.
Far to technical for the average HUKD user.. I'd say it's a plastic debit card with a picture on it and it's free if you bank with Barclays. Operational profit and loss doesn't really relate to the actual plastic card that they pop in the post

What if I open a Barclays account then get the card with my picture on it then never use it.
Let us not get too technical and legal, that will be close enough to be deemed a freebie (though if do get round to analyse the T&Cs of Barclays the card is the ownership of Barclays).
The account will go dormant and then be closed
Simply, unless one has a low IQ,one will find a hen's tooth freebie easier than a freebie from a bank.
As an analogy, your Qihoo 360 Total Security deal is not a freebe, you pay for it through decreased revenues from UK based security software firms, which in turn means taxes need to be raised in the UK by other means.
As a start name such a UK internet security software company that is in the internet total security segment ?
Sophos? Although they're not truly comparable as, unlike Qihoo, they were not found to be cheating in the antivirus tests.
Do you want a mod to move it to deals? Would you be happy then? Or would you complain that it should be in freebies?
Yes but it was a right PITA to get it right. No logos, no celebrities, no brands, no copyrights, no famous pictures, no slogans...
Where'd you get that from?
I have two accounts both with personalised cards - I've changed the picture on one of them and I lost my wallet 2 weeks ago, new cards arrived both personalised with the latest pictures I uploaded
writen on barclays page, some my friends benn charged £25 for that
There is no £25 charge. How do I know this? Guess who I work for
