So why did you think they were so cheap?

i have these and they are pretty useless. You set them at the required position and try to loosen or tighten the nut and they lose the grip.

Buy cheap tools, get cheap tools.
Even though this is a deals website, in the most part, tools are something that has to have at least a certain amount of quality, which means cost. Poor tools like these just aren't fit for purpose.

Good spot OP. I have to collect some accessories to fit a consumer unit anyway, so I've ordered these as well. Sometimes it is hard to understand how goods can be manufactured, shipped from China and sold at such a low cost.
Heat added, these are too inexpensive not to buy.

Whilst you are correct in saying that if one buys cheap tools one will get cheap tools (because that is a tautology), I rather disagree with your sentiment. It would be easy to spend over £30 on just one good quality adjustable spanner, and that would be a better tool, but it would not be 20 times better than each of these is. For most jobs these tools will do perfectly well. They will not adjust as precisely as an expensive tool, but generally they will last a long time and be fit for purpose as long as one understands their limitations.

For tightening gland nuts on consumer units and fitting bonding these will be fine, and I will not worry too much when I forget where I have put them down (must be the dementia setting in).
