Toys R Us administrator Moorfields said it has cut prices by up to 25% on all products at the struggling chain in an attempt to shift stock before it begins closing stores.

Simon Thomas, joint administrator, said: “Customers are encouraged to take advantage of these special offers as soon as possible. While stock levels are generally high, customers may find that the more popular brands begin to sell-out over the coming days.”

But the administrator warned that some stores in the portfolio may close in the coming days.

Here comes stampede at the stores, be sure to post any good deals you guys found.

Here's the text on their homepage-
Refunds and ExchangesNo exchanges for non-faulty items may be accepted and no refunds will be given.

If the item is faulty then the normal Company policy will be followed in accordance with your statutory rights.

Gift CardsWe are continuing to accept and redeem Gift Cards for purchases made, but please note that we will not be issuing Gift Cards.

No refunds can be given for the balance of the gift cards

Take Time To Pay AgreementsIf you have recently settled your Time to Pay agreement and collected your goods, then you are no longer a creditor of the company and nofurther action is needed.

If you have recently settled your Time to Pay agreement and but not collected your goods, then you should collect your goods from store as soon as possible.

If you have not settled your Time to Pay agreement and not collected your goods then you will need to attend your local store by Sunday 11 March 2018 and either:

  • Pay the balance for the merchandise they have included in their Take Time to Pay Agreement. The price of the merchandise will be the price in store on the day the customer settles the Take Time to Pay Agreement less the deposit that they have already paid; or
  • Purchase alternative goods that exceed the value of their deposit.
  • No cash refunds will be issued in respect of deposits paid prior to the company entering Administration

Gold Card and R Baby ClubLoyalty cards and loyalty points will no longer be issued.

its amazing, a new post just appeared exactly identical to this - although with a little more details, and that is trending hot whilst this is cold. a few of my previous posts have been "flagged" by mods sometimes without reasons. This is complete farcical. Mods, be consistent for a change!

I was in Warrington’s store just last night. Plenty of shoppers but next to nothing discounted.

I suspect eventually the prices will drop even further. This is just a start, and the admins are desperate to reduce stock...

Was just gonna head over might leave it a day or two
Considering they are chock full of old stock and have loads of stuff on reserve but not out on shelves says it all. I would still like a toy retailer on the high street but doesn't seem to be likely anymore. I think they are great for kids.

The Entertainer? There’s a toy retailer on the high street
Yeah but The Entertainer doesn't have much choice. Smyths is mainly outside of London.

The biggest problem Toys R Us had was that they were too slow to get on the high street - their reliance on their big out-of-town warehouses became their Achilles Heal. In the meantime, shops like The Entertainer managed to get a foothold, and look a lot better than the Toy R Us shops I have seen in High Streets - they feel very much like pop-up shops to me with their cheap wire racks and shelving - its a small observation but it does have an impact, it just felt more "fun" to go to the Entertainer
Have products been reduced already?

Plenty of stores in London and SE.

Er, Smyths?

My impression of Smyths is that it sits between Toys R Us' big out-of-town warehouses and the smaller High Street shops like The Entertainer - the Smyths I have seen are normally found in retail parks

They are, like Toys R Us, however, unlike Toys R Us, they open longer, have better stock management and adapt to change quicker.

The numbers speak for themselves:

I'm surprised Smyths has a big a share as Amazon. It's so much more expensive. Toys R Us was just an accident waiting to happen. Weird customer experience, unfriendly store layouts, just irrelevant really.

I'm probably just reading it wrong but sounds like you want all the stock from a 40,000 sq ft store crammed into a 5,000 sq ft store? The physics of a high street store means there will be less choice than a retail park.
its true, the layout - to me - very messy and my mind just goes like i want to get out of here as soon as possible.. altho the kids may not agree with me on this..

btw this post is just like the temperatures outside, brrrr.. freeezin'

Smyths is mainly outside of London.

London may be the capital but it isn't the only town or city in the country.
20% off almost everything at Birstall/Leeds branch, just picked up some Ghostbusters playmobil for myself the kid
I think the sign saying they reserve the right to search your bags when you leave the store would be enough to put anyone off going in again.
Just got back, take your coat the Warrington store was freezing.

Not really worth going, 20% off Playmobil, 10% off Lego, as I pointed out to my wife, less discount than the usual Smyths deals
Also 20% off Consoles which may be worth while if looking for an Xbox One X (subject to availability of course!)
